Job Title: Asbestos/Environmental Monitor Job Duration: Temp Only thru approx. 12/1/26 Est. Pay Range: $30 to $35/hr on w2 Work Type: On Site Work Schedule: Mon-Fri. Work Hours: 7am – 4pm (approx) - no set hours, need to be there when the contractors are working 
  Overview/ Responsibilities: Asbestos/Environmental Monitor: <ul><li>A minimum of a (4) four-year degree in Environmental science, environmental engineering, or related environmental discipline.</li><li>A minimum of (2) two years of experience performing environmental field work and construction inspections.</li><li>4-hours of NYS Department of Environmental Conservation sponsored training in proper erosion and sediment control principles.</li><li>Familiarity with SWPPP inspections and producing SWPPP reports.</li><li>Experience with utility construction projects and applicable federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to the project.</li><li>Ability to coordinate with multiple parties and communicate clearly to the contractor.</li><li>Experience/Knowledge in spill reporting to regulatory agencies.</li><li>Experience inspecting all construction activities, including clearing, access road improvements and installation’s structure removals, replacement structure installations, wire-stringing, installation and maintenance of temporary erosion controls, work involving wetlands, streams, agricultural lands.</li><li>Experience working in and around water and environmental monitoring compliance with permit conditions.</li><li>Experience inspecting and managing all environmental protection requirements.</li><li>Current waste training (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act [RCRA] hazardous waste and United States Department of Transportation [DOT] hazardous materials).</li><li>A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a NYSDOL certified Asbestos Project Monitor and Air Sampling Technician.</li></ul>

Faculty position (Open Rank) in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry starting in August 2026. General Purpose: Teach undergraduate courses (labs and lectures) in Biochemistry I and II and specialized courses in the area of expertise (e.g. Forensic chemistry, Food Chemistry, Biochemistry for Life Sciences). Full time tenure-track faculty position (open rank) in the broadly defined areas of Biochemistry/Bioorganic Chemistry/Medicinal/Forensic or Food Chemistry serving the teaching needs of undergraduate and graduate classes in these areas. We seek candidates with a strong commitment to teaching and research excellence who will contribute to both undergraduate and graduate education, and whose expertise complements that of current faculty and build on departmental strengths. Research expertise for this position is sought in the broadly defined areas of biochemistry, bioanalytical chemistry, biomaterials, and related areas. Teaching responsibilities may include Biochemistry I/II, Biochemistry for Life Sciences, Forensics, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceuticals, or Food Chemistry based on the area of expertise. Responsibilities:
• Teaching undergraduate courses as assigned • Teaching graduate courses supporting MS and PhD programs in Chemistry and Biochemistry as well as the interdisciplinary programs in Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) and Environmental Science and Engineering (ESE). • Maintain a vigorous, creative, externally funded research program • Mentoring of graduate and undergraduate students in the research environment • Actively participate on Departmental, School and University committees • To be a leader in the professional community, organizing symposia, reviewing manuscripts and research proposals, and the like.

Qualifications:
Education: Minimal Qualifications: Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Materials (or related areas) Preferred Qualifications: PhD in chemistry or biochemistry and teaching experience in undergraduate chemistry or biochemistry Experience: Minimal Experience: One year teaching in an undergraduate university setting.
