Job Overview: <ul><li> Lead the facility's Infection Prevention and Control (IP/IPC) program to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. </li><li> Maintain continuous regulatory readiness, including compliance with CMS, state and local reporting, and CDC/NHSN standards. </li><li> Oversee surveillance, data collection, analysis, and reporting of infection prevention metrics. </li><li> Promote patient safety through evidence-based IPC practices, policies, and staff education. </li></ul> Key Responsibilities:<ul><li> Direct the design, implementation, and evaluation of the IP/IPC program and annual goals. </li><li> Ensure alignment with CDC/NHSN surveillance definitions, and complete required external reporting on time. </li><li> Lead infection surveillance activities; analyze trends; prepare and present dashboards and reports. </li><li> Develop and update IPC policies, procedures, and training to meet CMS, state, and accreditation requirements. </li><li> Partner with clinical leadership, quality, employee health, and ancillary departments to improve compliance and outcomes. </li><li> Support outbreak investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. </li><li> Provide regular education on standard and transmission-based precautions, hand hygiene, device care, and environmental controls. </li><li> Monitor IPC readiness through audits, rounding, and corrective action tracking. </li><li> Collaborate On Antibiotic Stewardship Efforts and Integrate Relevant Data in Reports, As Applicable. </li></ul> Required Qualifications:<ul><li> Master's degree in Nursing, Education, Epidemiology, Public Health, Clinical Microbiology, or a related health field. </li><li> Three to five years of clinical experience in a health-related setting. </li><li> Two years of leadership experience in Infection Prevention or epidemiology. </li><li> Current national Certification in Infection Control (CIC). </li></ul> Technical & Functional Skills:<ul><li> Expertise with CDC/NHSN surveillance definitions and data submission. </li><li> Strong knowledge of CMS, state/local reporting, and accreditation standards for IPC. </li><li> Proficiency in infection surveillance, data analysis, trend reporting, and action planning. </li><li> Policy and procedure development for standard and transmission-based precautions. </li><li> Outbreak investigation, root-cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions. </li><li> Education program design and delivery for multidisciplinary teams. </li></ul> Behavioral Skills:<ul><li> Clear, concise communication and professional presentation skills. </li><li> Collaborative leadership with the ability to influence across clinical and non-clinical teams. </li><li> High attention to detail, accountability, and follow-through on regulatory tasks. </li><li> Structured problem solving, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement mindset. </li></ul>
