p>Performs 12 Lead ECG; Greets patients and assists with processing of patients;
Obtains medical records;
Gives enemas;
Measures and adjusts crutches, instructs patients on use of crutches;
Identifies changes in patient's condition and notifies supervisor;
Monitors stock supplies and notifies appropriate staff for ordering replacements;
Maintains ambulance equipment;
Applies TED stockings, ace wraps, non-complicated splints; abdominal binder arthrombic pumps / leggings, splints/prosthetic devices;
Performs post-mortem care;
Performs simple treatment and simple dressing changes;
Dresses and undresses patients and perform Infection Control Procedures;
Performs non-complicated eye washing;
Assists in discharging patients from Emergency Room.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and one (1) year experience as an Emergency Medical Technician, nursing assistant or hospital aide; or:
- Possession of thirty (30) semester credit hours from a school of professional nursing*; or:
- Completion of a course of study in a school of practical nursing approved by the New York State Education Department; or:
- Completion of a certificate program as a medical assistant, medical office assistant or closely related program from a college, university or post-high school institution.
