In addition to these duties, it is expected to lead by example, ensure workflow continuity by stepping-in when needed to assist and work alongside maintenance personnel, train new employees, perform administrative duties such as Workday and Maximo and be able to cover for the supervisor when the supervisor is absent.This position reports to the Corrections Maintenance Shop at Pima County Main Jail (1270 W. Silverlake Rd). The schedule is five evening shifts per week, from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. (second shift). Assigned workdays rotate on a quarterly basis.Essential Functions: As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, this classification may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. Ensure the descriptions provided illustrate your competencies, specifically addressing the required and preferred qualifications.):<ul><li>Experience with written communication, especially with written shift summaries and documentation of issues.</li><li>Experience performing visual site inspections for maintenance issues, including random follow up quality control inspections for completed work.</li><li>Experience communicating with management regarding parts, supplies, and tools needed for maintenance projects.</li><li>Experience in a professional setting, using Microsoft Outlook, Maximo, and Workday.</li><li>Minimum six (6) months experience in a maintenance setting, in a lead, supervisor, or foreman capacity, overseeing a crew of four (4) or larger.</li><li>Experience with recognizing safety hazards and providing the necessary tools or equipment to safely carry out a task.</li><li>Experience with preventive maintenance programs and associated tracking/scheduling.</li><li>Experience training maintenance staff as needed on correct use of tools, equipment, or related apparatus.</li><li>Experience with/knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, carpentry, water treatment, general building maintenance, and energy management systems.</li></ul>Selection Procedure:  Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicant’s suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination. Any offer of employment resulting from this recruitment is contingent upon Fleet Services’ review and approval of the candidate’s driving record.  Some positions require a valid Arizona commercial driver license (CDL) with appropriate endorsement(s) at the time of appointment, or prior to completion of an initial/promotional probation period.
