p>Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (HELPS) program if they have: Psychiatrist 1 Children & youth: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and certification in child and adolescent psychiatry approved by the ABPN.
Psychiatrists at OMH:
• Provide primary psychiatric care to patients • Respond to urgent or emergency clinical issues • Collaborate with other health care professionals to achieve treatment goals and ensure continuity and quality of care • Assess and refer individuals for admission, transfer, discharge, and further treatment • Review and maintain medical records and documentation consistent with facility, agency, State, and federal guidelines • Serve as members of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
