The DeKalb County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a Dietary Aide / Food Service Worker to join our team and help ensure residents receive nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.About the Role Under direct supervision, you will assist with food preparation, tray assembly, meal delivery, cleaning, and dish room responsibilities. This role plays a vital part in maintaining high standards of care and service for our residents.Schedule: 4:30 p.m. - 7:45 p.m.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Prepare minor food items, nourishments, and snacks</li><li>Participate in tray-line setup, assembly, and meal delivery</li><li>Assist residents with tray preparation following established procedures</li><li>Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, dining areas, carts, pots, pans, and utensils</li><li>Operate kitchen tools and equipment safely (dish machine, blenders, ovens, etc.)</li><li>Sweep, mop, remove trash, and perform routine and special cleaning duties</li><li>Note and record resident meal intakes</li><li>Adhere to dress code and maintain a neat, professional appearance</li><li>Attend required meetings, in-services, and orientation</li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Ability to read, write, speak, and follow oral and written English instructions</li><li>Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment</li><li>Positive and respectful communication with residents, families, and coworkers</li><li>Ability to perform repetitive, physically demanding, and detail-oriented work</li><li>No previous experience required - 1-3 weeks of training provided</li><li>Current CPR certification required</li><li>Must complete ongoing in-service education and orientation</li><li>Physical exam and two tuberculin skin tests required within 10 days of hire</li><li>Ability to safely perform all essential job functions, with or without accommodation</li><li>Ability to maintain effective working relationships at all levels</li></ul>Pay: $16.19 per hourWork Environment<ul><li>Primarily indoors in a kitchen and dining area</li><li>Exposure to residents, families, water, steam, and food</li><li>Well-lit and climate-controlled facility</li></ul>Emergency Responsibilities All team members must understand and follow facility emergency procedures and be able to assist with evacuations and safety-related tasks as needed.
