TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Constructs, maintains and repairs piping systems, equipment, control devices, etc. for sanitary, storm water, domestic water, gas and vacuum systems; Installs, repairs, and maintain plumbing devices such as sinks, toilets, showers, drains, water heaters, pumps, distilled water units, vacuum units, etc., including control devices; insulates piping and equipment as required; Plans and lays out work; estimates materials and supplies required; reads and interprets blueprints, specifications or written orders to determine nature of work required; requests material and supplies required; May perform related tasks and may assist other craftsmen on repairs or installation projects.
