community and Family Resources is seeking a Counselor to provide substance use services to our clients in the Intensive Outpatient level of care!! Essential Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Intake/Assessments:<ul><li>Assists clients in completion of necessary assessment forms/documents.</li><li>Conducts individual assessment sessions for completion of comprehensive assessment histories of clients.</li><li>Participates with the direct supervisor in development of recommendations for clients.</li><li>Prepares and distributes assessment results, reports, etc., as required and requested.</li><li>Assists in other assessment processes as required and requested.</li></ul></li><li>Treatment Services:<ul><li>Provides client orientation to treatment services.</li></ul><ul><li>Assists in the development, coordination, and evaluation of the treatment program.</li><li>Conducts individual, family, and group sessions consistent with treatment plans.</li><li>Develops and coordinates individual treatment plans with client, supervisor, and referral sources.</li><li>Facilitates groups as required.</li><li>Provides follow-up services.</li></ul></li><li>Support Services:<ul><li>Assists individuals and families in the intervention process through educational and planning sessions and, when feasible, participates in the interventions.</li><li>Maintains appropriate client and pre-client case records.</li><li>Provides clients and families with referral resources for the services not provided by this agency or when this agency’s services are not appropriate.</li><li>Provides training for agency staff in areas of own expertise.</li></ul></li><li>Community Education and Prevention:<ul><li>Participates in coordination of community awareness programs concerning problem-gambling and substance use,</li><li>Provides community education about problem gambling and substance use when consistent with program philosophy and personal expertise.</li></ul></li></ul>Schedule:<ul><li>Type: Full-time</li><li>Hours: 40+ hours each week. This position provides our Evening IOP services and must be able to work until 8 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings/ Wednesday & Friday 9am to 5pm.</li></ul>Education and Experience Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelors or Masters degree required, preferably in social or behavioral sciences or related field. Candidates with an Associates degree and 3+ years of experience as a substance use counselor is preferred.</li></ul>Required Knowledge and Abilities:<ul><li>Knowledge of the theories, principles, and techniques of problem gambling and substance abuse treatment.</li><li>Knowledge of the psychosocial aspects of substance abuse.</li><li>Knowledge of the principles of recording and report writing.</li><li>Knowledge of 42CFR and HIPPA and how it relates to agency.</li><li>Knowledge of CARF and IDPH licensure standards.</li><li>Knowledge of public/private welfare, health care, problem gambling and substance use agencies available in the area served by this agency.</li><li>Computer skills including ability to use internet software, spreadsheet software, word-processing software, and electronic health record.</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively, regularly, and fluently in English; bilingual (English/Spanish) abilities are preferred but not required.</li><li>Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.</li></ul>Benefits:<ul><li>Health insurance</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Vision insurance</li><li>IPERS retirement benefit</li><li>Optional 401K</li><li>Employee Assistance Program</li><li>Generous PTO (20 days accrued in your first year)</li><li>9 paid holidays</li><li>Paid trainings and CEU opportunities</li><li>Public Student Loan Forgiveness employer</li><li>Tuition reimbursement</li><li>Various discounts including tuition fees at partner schools, travel, cell phone plans, and more!</li></ul>Application Process:Candidates interested in applying should submit an application and resume. The ideal candidate will have a background in working with individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, severe anxiety and depression, as well as Down syndrome. While the position will include cleaning chores, we're looking for candidates who are willing to go above and beyond by helping individuals with their personal hygiene.
