Hauls special event equipment and sets up according to rules and directions; Directs pedestrian and vehicular traffic as allowed by law; Advises the public concerning matters of special event information and directions; Monitors the special event area for damage to public equipment and facilities; Administers Borough and event rules and regulations; Directs traffic and checks parking areas; Closes and opens buildings and locks; Checks permits; Communicates with vendors, organizers, event participants with respect to proper service; Monitors for illegally parked cars and keeps fire lanes clear for emergency response; Radios for police help in emergencies such as serious injuries, disorderly conduct, lost children, etc. ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: All employees in this class must complete any training that the Chief of Police may prescribe from time to time, Extensive public contact work, facility maintenance experience, above average communication skills, assertiveness, responsible work ethic including but not limited to timeliness, public appearance and ability to listen, learn, and follow directions precisely; and preferably graduation from high school or a GED; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
