Position Summary:
As a member of the Guest Services Team, you will be an essential part of the Guest experience and help build memories that last a lifetime. In this role, you will wear many different hats and have the potential to work in several different areas of the arena. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to ushering, ticket scanning, concourse customer service, greeter. You will have the opportunity to assist our guests by offering directions and sharing information while creating a World Class experience. Your job will be to keep our fans safe and informed while still maintaining a fun and friendly atmosphere This role will pay an hourly rate of $12.00 to $15.00.  Benefits for Part-Time roles: 401(k) Savings Plan and 401(k) matching EVERGREEN ROLE: Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis; there is no application deadline.

Xtream Arena & GreenState Family Fieldhouse fulfills a longstanding community and economic development void in Coralville and surrounding areas. About Xtream Arena powered by Mediacom The 5,100 fixed seat Xtream Arena (6,600 concert capacity) serves as host home for University of Iowa Volleyball and the Iowa Heartlanders ECHL hockey tenant. About GreenState Family Fieldhouse With direct connectivity to the 30,000 sq. ft 5-court fieldhouse, the facility immediately enables this community to become a signature attractor of both amateur and professional sporting events.

Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Prepare your assigned section for guests; this could include wiping down seats, looking for potential hazards, reporting any issues to a supervisor</li><li>When gates open, welcome our fans with a great smile and helpful attitude</li><li>Scan event tickets ensuring that the proper ticket is being used to gain entry</li><li>Assist fans in locating their ticketed seats</li><li>Being alert and proactive to potential hazards and reporting incidents when they occur</li><li>Monitor your assigned area for issues and opportunities to make lasting memories for our fans</li><li>Respond to all guest concerns/complaints promptly and in a professional manner</li><li>Assist guests in ADA accessible seating sections</li><li>Enforce all building policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all guests</li><li>Manage the foot traffic flow of large crowds</li><li>Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.</li><li>Be knowledgeable about arena emergency evacuation plan in order to safely assist guests during the unlikely event of an emergency.</li></ul>

Qualifications:
<ul><li>Experience in a hospitality or entertainment environment is preferred</li><li>You must love working with and helping people.</li><li>Ability to stand for long periods of time.</li><li>You must be able to maintain a positive attitude while handling difficult situations.</li><li>Flexible schedule: Availability to work day, night or weekend availability is needed.</li></ul>

This consists of working with event clients and National Governing Bodies to plan successful sports events and client servicing including, but not limited to, creating task lists, leading planning meetings, coordinating transportation, administrating client servicing, securing resources and supervising on site the successful creation of the event including the recruitment and coordination of event volunteers. This position participates as a member of the Tourism sports sales team with tournament directors, actively selling our community, managing data entry for sales leads and contacts, preparing materials to support bids, sports event management, servicing sports clients and organizing sports site tours that take place in Cedar Rapids.

The Cedar Rapids Tourism Office is the exclusive convention and visitor's bureau under contract with the City of Cedar Rapids to market the City as a destination for events and leisure travel. This position participates as a member of the Tourism sports sales team with tournament directors, actively selling our community, managing data entry for sales leads and contacts, preparing materials to support bids, sports event management, servicing sports clients and organizing sports site tours that take place in Cedar Rapids. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. 1. Assist in the management and administration of sporting events including serving as event Tournament Director when assigned. This consists of working with event clients and National Governing Bodies to plan successful sports events and client servicing including, but not limited to, creating task lists, leading planning meetings, coordinating transportation, administrating client servicing, securing resources and supervising on site the successful creation of the event including the recruitment and coordination of event volunteers. 2. Participate as a member of the sports sales team to generate new sales leads, build relationships and assist in sales presentations and site tours as needed. This includes participation in sales missions and at industry trade show events as assigned. 3. Manage CRM data entry for client leads and sales opportunities. 4. Work with the Sports Director to develop successful site tours for tournament organizers and individuals coming through town to showcase Cedar Rapids in the best possible way. 5. Participate as a member of the Tourism team in an open office environment, greeting visitors to the office, answering the main phone line, directing inquiries to the appropriate department and assisting with visitor requests as necessary. Work hours and schedule are generally Monday - Friday 8:30am to 5pm but will vary with required travel and attendance during events and at trade shows that includes holidays, evenings and weekends.
