Health Promotion TechnicianAleknagik Technology, LLC is seeking a Health Promotion Technician who will support the Armed Forces Wellness Center (AFWC) at Joint Base Langley-Eustis.Description: The Health Promotion Technician reports to the Armed Forces Wellness Center (AFWC) Director/ Lead Health Educator and works as a team member in a dynamic group that delivers primary prevention services that improve health and build readiness by targeting the behaviorally modifiable factors most likely to result in chronic disease, injury and/or performance issues. The Health Promotion Technician will participate in providing six core programs (health assessment review, physical fitness, healthy nutrition, stress management, general wellness education, and tobacco education) as part of the standardized AFWC program.Provide support to the AWC program with tasks such as coordination of community events, scheduling appointments, managing referrals, performing administrative and clerical support tasks, educating clients on the AWC mission and services available, and supporting health educators in biometric screening. Conduct basic assessments such as health and biometric screenings as well as instructing health promotion briefs.Responsibilities:<ul><li style="color:#393839;line-height:115%;background:#ffffff">Manage center schedules using Microsoft Office Suite and military medical record systems</li><li style="color:#393839;line-height:115%;background:#ffffff">Coordinates community outreach events.</li><li style="color:#393839;line-height:115%;background:#ffffff">Schedules appointments, manages referrals, performs administrative and clerical support tasks.</li><li style="color:#393839;line-height:115%;background:#ffffff">Conducts basic assessments such as health and biometric screenings.</li><li style="color:#393839;line-height:115%;background:#ffffff">Coordinates and conducts on-site unit level health promotion briefings using standardized presentations.</li><li style="color:#393839;line-height:115%;background:#ffffff">Performs data entry for all automated systems currently utilized by the medical treatment facility.</li><li style="color:#393839;line-height:115%;background:#ffffff">Assists the AFWC Director with equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.</li><li style="color:#393839;line-height:115%;background:#ffffff">Perform other duties as assigned</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li style="color:#393839;line-height:115%;background:#ffffff">4-year degree in an Allied Health field (exercise science/exercise physiology preferred) from an accredited college or university. Allied Health degrees include, but are not limited to, health promotion, health education, exercise science, nutrition science, etc.</li><li style="color:#393839;line-height:115%;background:#ffffff">Current AHA BLS certification required</li><li style="color:#393839;line-height:115%;background:#ffffff">Proficient in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel</li><li style="color:#393839;line-height:115%;background:#ffffff">Excellent customer service skills and ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment </li><li style="color:#393839;line-height:115%;background:#ffffff">U.S. citizenship required </li></ul>

This position will be responsible for collecting data, analyzing the data in comparison to required physical demands, determining whether an applicant can perform the physical demands of a position and completing reports for submission to a contracted corporation.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Greet applicants and take them to a designated testing area.</li><li>Conduct post-offer testing for industrial jobs.</li><li>Assesses human motion to determine applicant’s physical abilities</li><li>Perform grip and pinch strength measures.</li><li>Perform girth measurements.</li><li>Perform material handling tests.</li><li>Perform NIOSH static lift tests.</li><li>Perform functional screens and agility tests.</li><li>Perform treadmill and stair climber protocols.</li><li>Perform dexterity protocols.</li><li>Perform walk tests.</li><li>Perform lift technique training.</li><li>Perform efficient quality human motion (EQHM) movement training.</li><li>Perform behavioral based safety training.</li><li>Teach preferred work postures and injury risk recognition counter-strain techniques.</li><li>Take photographs of tests and accumulate for printing.</li><li>Print documents as needed.</li><li>Prepare, correct, and print spreadsheets.</li><li>Prepare Physical Ability Test reports for distribution to contracted company representatives.</li><li>Ensure reports are sent out 1 working day after test completion.</li><li>Keep supervisor up to date on progress of reports.</li><li>Conduct oneself in a professional and ethical manner, with integrity and honesty.</li><li>Cooperate, work, and communicate with coworkers, and supervisors to ensure a pleasant and professional work environment.</li></ul>Required Education, Skills, Abilities:<ul><li>Knowledge of human movement (Kinesiology), Physiology, and functional movement.</li><li>Knowledge of basic math.</li><li>Skill in customer service.</li><li>Skill in computer software for word processing, spreadsheet creation and data entry.</li><li>Ability to follow strict testing protocols.</li><li>Ability to create positive relationships with clients,
