<div>The primary role of Geotechnical Engineer is the design and execution of geotechnical projects. The incumbent performs field geotechnical explorations and investigations, reviews soils laboratory test results, and performs analysis and design of geotechnical data and projects. </div><div><strong>KEY JOB DUTIES</strong></div><ul><li>Perform geotechnical analysis and studies to assess potential mitigation options for geohazards including seismic analysis, karst evaluation, etc.</li><li>Plan and conduct geotechnical explorations. Perform appropriate calculations for the design of foundations, retaining walls, horizontal directional drills, and slope stability.</li><li>Assist in developing proposals and determine cost and schedule for investigations.</li><li>Provide directions to technical team in field inspection activities.</li><li>Interact with customers and team members to complete the assigned project on-time.</li><li>Assist Program Manager in design and evaluation of construction documents and projects.</li><li>Develop design drawings and specifications for construction projects.</li><li>Review and approve geotechnical designs developed by outside consultants.</li><li>Review construction design proposals and approve geotechnical aspects.</li><li>Evaluate team performance and determine training needs to meet performance objectives.</li></ul><div><strong>Education/Skills: </strong></div><ul><li>BS in Civil Engineering/Geotechnical Engineering or related field.</li><li>3-7 years of relatable experience required. </li><li>Knowledge and understanding of industry codes and standards.</li><li>FE Mandatory, PE highly preferred. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills and critical thinking skills.</li><li>Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities is important.</li><li>Time management and organizational skills and the ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.</li><li>Experience in engineering, procurement, and construction projects is desirable.</li><li>Solid analytical and problem-solving skills. Accuracy and attention to detail are important.</li><li>Proficiency with applicable software applications.</li><li>Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including internal resources and clients.</li></ul>
