<h3>Position Overview:</h3>We are seeking a Part-Time Evening Janitor to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of state office buildings during evening hours. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of completing routine cleaning tasks while also performing scheduled deep cleaning activities as required. This position requires the ability to pass a background check and / or fingerprinting, and to successfully document the completion of both regular and periodic cleaning tasks. The role is essential in ensuring a clean, safe, and professional environment for state employees and visitors. Shift Details: Monday; Wednesday; SundayAny time after 5pm $15 per hour5:30 pm - 7:30 pm <h3>Key Responsibilities:</h3><ul><li>Routine Cleaning:</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot clean floors in common areas, hallways, restrooms, and offices.</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Empty trash cans and replace liners in offices, break rooms, restrooms, and hallways.</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Dust and wipe down furniture, fixtures, window sills, and surfaces.</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring they are fully stocked with soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, including door handles, light switches, and handrails.</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Perform light cleaning of glass and windows as needed.</li><li>Deep Cleaning & Maintenance Tasks:</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Follow a cleaning schedule to complete monthly and quarterly deep cleaning activities such as high dusting, baseboard cleaning, and ceiling fan maintenance.</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Ensure that cleaning supplies and equipment are properly maintained, and report any equipment issues to the Facilities Manager.</li><li>Safety & Compliance:</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Ensure the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment in compliance with safety guidelines.</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Complete and document cleaning activities according to established schedules and checklists.</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Follow state building safety protocols, ensuring that all cleaning practices contribute to a safe and healthy environment.</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or damage to the Facilities Manager immediately.</li><li>Other Duties as Assigned:</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Assist with event setup or teardown as needed (e.g., for meetings or conferences).</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Other janitorial duties as assigned by the area supervisor</li></ul><h3>Qualifications:</h3><ul><li>Education & Experience:</li><li class="ql-indent-1">High school diploma or equivalent preferred.</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or facilities maintenance roles is a plus but not required.</li><li>Skills & Abilities:</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Ability to perform routine and deep cleaning tasks independently.</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleaning standards.</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Ability to use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely.</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Good organizational and time management skills.</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.</li><li>Licenses/Certifications:</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Must be able to pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting.</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Must be able to complete documentation for monthly and periodic deep cleaning items and maintain records as required.</li><li>Physical Requirements:</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.</li></ul><h3>Working Conditions:</h3><ul><li>This is a part-time, evening position typically scheduled for Monday through Friday.</li><li>Work hours are flexible, but will generally fall between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM.</li><li>This position requires working in office environments, including exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and cleaning equipment.</li><li>Occasional evening or weekend shifts may be required for special projects or events</li></ul>
