Tesoro Group is seeking an experienced Building Superintendent to join one of our client’s team at (1) property in Jackson, MN (56143). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in property management, maintenance, or a related field (multifamily leasing, facilities, or building operations preferred). This role is contract to hire (30-90 days before conversion).Salary: $24-$28/hour DOQ. This role is contract to hire (90 days before conversion).Schedule: Full Time - Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday – Friday with a 30min lunchDuties and ResponsibilitiesAs the Building Superintendent, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of property operations, combining the roles of Property Manager, Maintenance Technician, and Janitorial Property Management<ul><li>Oversee daily operations of the townhomes and apartment complex</li><li>Manage leasing activities: advertising, showings, applications, lease execution, and renewals</li><li>Enforce lease terms and ensure compliance with housing laws and regulations</li><li>Collect rent, process payments, and maintain accurate financial and tenant records</li><li>Respond to resident inquiries, complaints, and emergencies in a timely, professional manner</li><li>Conduct regular property inspections and coordinate vendor services as needed</li><li>Assist with budgeting, reporting, and general administrative tasks</li></ul>Maintenance & Repairs<ul><li>Perform routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance on units and common areas</li><li>Troubleshoot and complete light plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting tasks</li><li>Track and manage work orders using property management software</li><li>Maintain building systems and coordinate with contractors for specialized repairs</li><li>Order and manage inventory of parts, tools, and supplies (with approval)</li><li>Assist with unit turnovers, including repairs and cleaning</li></ul>Janitorial & Groundskeeping<ul><li>Clean and maintain all common areas, including hallways, laundry rooms, and entryways</li><li>Perform deep cleaning tasks as needed (e.g., carpet shampooing, window washing, unit turns)</li><li>Maintain exterior grounds, including trash removal, all lawncare, and light landscaping</li><li>Handle snow removal tasks not covered by the third-party contractor, such as shoveling door entrances, applying salt, and tidying up between professional removals</li><li>Keep maintenance shop and storage areas clean, organized, and secureOn-Call & Emergency Response</li><li>Responsible for after-hours emergency phone </li><li>Respond promptly to urgent maintenance or safety issues</li></ul>Qualifications & Experience Requirements<ul><li>Minimum of 2 years’ experience in property management, maintenance, or a related field (multifamily leasing, facilities, or building operations preferred). </li><li>Proficient in using smartphones, tablets, and work-order/property management software</li><li>Comfortable with basic maintenance tools and equipment</li><li>Familiarity with light plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and janitorial tasks</li><li>Knowledge of facilities management principles and best practices</li><li>Strong verbal, written, and digital communication skills</li><li>Customer service-oriented with the ability to resolve conflicts professionally</li><li>Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills</li><li>Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., data entry, file management, word processing)</li><li>Ability to comprehend and complete legal, financial, and operational documents</li><li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED)</li><li>Must provide own basic hand tools.</li><li>Must be available to manage on-call/after hours/ER phone – weeknights and weekends.</li><li>Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.</li><li>Ability to pass a background check before employment.</li></ul>Tesoro Group is a leading provider of specialized talent solutions dedicated to connecting exceptional individuals with exciting career opportunities across various industries.
