We are currently hiring experienced and motivated Concrete Finishers to join our construction team in Augusta, Maine. This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in producing high-quality concrete surfaces and working in a fast-paced construction environment.Responsibilities<ul><li>
 Set and align concrete forms according to blueprints and project specifications
 </li><li>
 Mix, pour, spread, and level concrete to required depth and pitch
 </li><li>
 Operate hand and power tools including trowels, floats, screeds, and edging tools
 </li><li>
 Smooth and finish concrete surfaces to achieve quality appearance and durability
 </li><li>
 Apply sealants, curing compounds, and surface treatments
 </li><li>
 Monitor concrete curing and make adjustments as needed for weather and site conditions
 </li><li>
 Cut expansion and control joints to prevent cracking
 </li><li>
 Work closely with laborers, carpenters, and supervisors to complete projects safely and efficiently
 </li><li>
 Maintain tools, equipment, and clean work areas
 </li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>
 Previous concrete finishing experience preferred
 </li><li>
 Knowledge of concrete placement, finishing techniques, and curing processes
 </li><li>
 Ability to read basic construction drawings and measurements
 </li><li>
 Strong attention to detail and workmanship
 </li><li>
 Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
 </li><li>
 Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and perform demanding labor
 </li><li>

Inspects parts for rust and scale and is responsible for quality of the work done on all parts leaving the phosphate coating area on his respective shift.

Job Summary-:
**The hourly rate for this position is $27.55** The Metal Finisher #1 sets up and operates metal finishing equipment such as vibrators, tumbling barrels, shakers, magnetic separators and phosphate coating processes. Inspects parts for rust and scale and is responsible for quality of the work done on all parts leaving the phosphate coating area on his respective shift. Follows established company directives, policies, military specifications, quality documents and manufacturing instructions.

Responsibilities-:
Collect samples of phosphate coating solutions weekly.  Daily analyzes phosphate solution for total and free acid as described in appropriate work instruction.  Adds appropriate chemicals, prepares and runs samples for salt spray and coating weight testing daily per work instructions.  Operate abrasive cleaning equipment such as grit blast machines.  Use abrasive sanding discs, belts, wheels, which include buffing, polishing wheels, and compounds.  Use trichloroethylene vapor degreaser, acid descaler and caustic cleaning compounds.  Plugs or masks parts as necessary to protect items from abrasive or coating processes.  May mix various types or combinations of abrasives depending on size, design, and material in order to meet specified finish.  Adds Medias as they wear down in size.  Also determines when cycles may be stopped to additional parts. Processes designated items through a heat treat oven during phosphate coating cycles to prevent hydrogen embrittlement.  Maintain daily logs of items that are heat treated in compliance with company and government directives.  May start up, shut off and adjust oven temperatures. Monitors condition of finishing media for glazed, loaded, or dull, appearance.  Recondition media as necessary.  Uses electrical hoist or manually lifts trays, baskets, and racks containing parts to be finished. Loads and unloads items from the various finishing processes. Protect finished items from corrosion by applying oil or other rust inhibitors.  Uses gages during final sanding, buffing and polishing operations to ensure designated specifications.  Maintain cleanliness and serviceable condition of equipment by practicing good housekeeping policies.  Physical capacity requirements for this position require the incumbent to be able to lift 35 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. on occasion. 

Qualifications-:
High school diploma or G.E.D. required.  No supervision required as to the mechanics of the job.  Must be capable of performing all tasks and duties of Metal Finisher #2 and #3.  May be required to enter and verify information into written forms or database(s) as appropriate.    Required to perform other duties as directed by supervision and follow detailed instructions.
