This role builds on the foundational duties by taking on more complex tasks and reinforcing departmental policies through example and support. Essential ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.Patrol designated areas as assigned.Write parking tickets for illegally parked vehicles.Investigate complaints, disturbances and thefts by completing a concise and factual report in accordance with policies and procedures.Operate two-way communication system to send and receive messages following appropriate radio protocol.Record detailed shift activities and assist in compiling official documentation for internal review; May assist in reviewing less senior staff logs and forms for completeness.Assist in the training of new officers as assigned; may direct and review work of Security staff and review officer incident reports to ensure completeness.Coordinate movement of law enforcement personnel within OU Health facilities and ensure alignment with hospital policy during official visits and investigations.Serve as a point of contact for external agency inquiries; provide relevant security information and assistance during active investigations in accordance with OU Health protocols.Respond to emergency alarms and fire department calls; assess situations and report hazards or irregularities promptly to the appropriate authority.Assist in restraining individuals who are disruptive or in violation of the law in the OU Health Facilities, parking garages, lots and/or grounds while on duty. General ResponsibilitiesPerforms other duties as assigned. Education RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED required. Experience Requirements: Level IIAt least 3 years of experience required. Experience Requirements: Level IIIAt least 5 years of experience required.License/Certification/Registration RequirementsValid driver’s license required. Must be a State of Oklahoma issued driver’s license within 30 days of Oklahoma residency.Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer issued by the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety required within 6 months of hire.Management of Aggressive Behavior certification required within 45 days of hire. What We Can Achieve Together: The Conservation Practitioner II performs and participates in preserve operations, maintenance and management that encompasses 8,015 acres in south-central Oklahoma. The Conservation Practitioner II (CPII) maintains preserve areas and removes exotic species by chemical or mechanical means. CPII operates power tools, equipment, ATV's and vehicles in a safe manner. CPII maintains and repairs equipment including lawn mower, trimmer, brush cutter, chainsaw, tractor, ATV's, UTV's, spray tanks, pumps, and vehicles. The CPII assists with forest, woodland, prairie and savanna stewardship practices and management, surveying and monitoring flora and fauna, and assisting with prescribed fire. The CPII maintains facilities and grounds including mowing, trimming, fence and gate repair, installation of signage, and building maintenance. CPII may assist in data collection of monitoring plots. Follows processes of data collection utilizing GIS databases on mobile and PC devices. May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations for long periods of time in isolated settings, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstances. Requires considerable physical exertion and/or muscular strain. This position will be stationed at Pontotoc Ridge Preserve near Stonewall, Oklahoma. Housing will be provided (no pets). This is a regular full-time position (40 hours per week) lasting through August 21, 2026. This role has the potential to evolve into a permanent full-time position.
