This role involves setting up and taking down traffic control signs, cones, and barricades to ensure the safety of workers and the public. The Flagger uses hand signals, signs, and other traffic control devices to communicate with motorists and guide them safely through or around the work area. This role involves performing lane closures on state highways and other roadways, redirecting traffic for workers or survey crews, and working independently or as part of a traffic control crew. Additionally, the role also involves assembling, delivering, and picking up safety products from job sites, following contractor directions. <br/><br/><b>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: </b></div><ul><li>Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites. </li><li>Drive MOT (Management of Traffic) vehicle to and from projects and on work sites. </li><li>Drive TMA (Truck Mounted Attenuator) vehicle to and from projects and on work sites to protect workers and work zones. </li><li>Place temporary construction signs in work areas. </li><li>Position arrow boards or variable message boards in work areas. </li><li>Set up traffic cones and other traffic safety devices in work areas. </li><li>Monitor the work zone throughout the shift to ensure items remain in their proper locations. </li><li>Collect and load traffic control items at the beginning and end of shifts. </li><li>Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, posts, and supports. </li><li>Perform shop work, including general maintenance and repair of equipment. </li><li>Follow all safety rules and regulations to ensure a safe work environment. </li><li>Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures. </li><li>Perform other work-related duties as assigned. </li></ul><div><b>EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: </b></div><ul><li>Valid Driver’s License. </li><li>1-3 years of experience and 2,000 in field hours in traffic control. </li><li>Must be able to pass a background check, including motor vehicle records check. </li><li>Must successfully pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements. </li><li>Wear proper safety equipment (work boots with safety toe, hard hat, safety glasses, and safety vest). </li><li>Basic reading and writing ability to comply with road signs, complete paperwork, and knowledge of federal and state motor carrier safety regulations. </li><li>Must be able to read plans and ensure traffic control plans are implemented and maintained. </li><li>Good knowledge of state and local roadways and experience operating delivery vehicles of varying sizes. </li><li>Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds. </li><li>Must successfully complete the ATSSA TCT intermediate training course. </li><li>Willingness to travel statewide, with occasional overnight stays, and ability to work nights and weekends as required by projects. </li><li>Must be available for a rotating on-call schedule. </li><li>Mechanical background/experience (preferred).</li></ul><div><b style="color:rgba( 0 , 0 , 0 , 0.87 );font-family:'arimo' ,"><u>EOE Statement</u></b><br style="color:rgba( 0 , 0 , 0 , 0.87 );font-family:'arimo' ,"/><b style="color:rgba( 0 , 0 , 0 , 0.87 );font-family:'arimo' ,">RoadSafe is an Equal Opportunity Employer/including Disabled/Veterans</b></div>
