This position is intended to be used at ORMC and APH. Job Title: Critical Care Transport ParamedicDept: APH Mobile TransportStatus: Full TimeShift: Nights The Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team transports and provides comprehensive care to an age population of birth to 18 years. Care is provided to patients with the need for maintenance of an adequate airway, cardiovascular integrity, adequate fluid and electrolyte balance, and hemodynamic stability. The Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team is based at the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. Medical coverage for the Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Requests for transport from referring physicians will be directed to the PICU Intensivist/Fellow on call for the Pediatric Critical Care patients. For the acute care patients, requests will be directed to the Admitting physician. Qualifications:
Education/Training. • Graduate of an approved paramedic program. • Formal Critical Care Paramedic training program (UMBC CCEMT-P; UF-CCP, similar) preferred.  Licensure/Certification• Maintains certification as a Paramedic (PMD) in the State of Florida. • Maintains current American Heart Association (AHA) certifications in BLS/Healthcare, ACLS, and PALS. • Maintains current certification in Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS). • Obtains and maintains International Board of Specialty Certifications Critical Care Paramedic (CCP-C) or Flight Paramedic (FP-C) certification within six (6) months of hire. Experience • Two (2) years of experience working in a prehospital, hospital, or non-transport paramedic position. • Experience with an emergency EMS transport agency is preferred. • Experience in a Critical Care ground or air transport system is preferred.

With 40 years of service on the flight side, the Critical Care Ground Transport team aims to bring the same quality of care to Orlando Health patients and the community.   <div> </div><div>As hospitals have expanded, along with more freestanding emergency departments and as the city of Orlando and its surrounding areas grow, there is an increased need to transfer patients who are sick or critically ill, efficiently, safely and urgently. The Critical Care Ground Transport team allows us to take the sickest of patients, no matter where they are and get them exactly where they need to be, when they need to be there while providing seamless care in between. Our clinical providers riding alongside patients in the ambulances are going to provide the same level of care that our flight medic nurses provide, which is essentially in delivering the highest levels of critical care for transport available in the state of Florida.
