Sr Construction Engineer Whitman, Requardt and Associates, LLPSr Construction EngineerRaleigh, North CarolinaFull timeThe position will collaborate with WRA's NC CEI Manager and Transportation leadership team, and WRA's Executive CEI leadership to develop and implement a plan to grow WRA's CEI practice in NC, including developing and advancing existing teaming partner and client relationships; supporting business development efforts to pursue CEI opportunities; assisting in preparing Letters of Interest for Project Advertisements and Requests for LOI; leading teams in pursuing potential work and securing project assignments; preparing CEI scopes and budgets for submission and negotiation; overseeing the hiring, managing, training and retaining CEI staff for awarded work; managing contracts and performing technical assignments awarded to WRA on Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build projects with federal, state and local clients and funding sources; assuring high quality of work and client satisfaction; reviewing and approving invoices; and supporting WRA's other planning and engineering services in NC.Applicants must demonstrate progressive transportation construction engineering and inspection leadership and management experience, performing the duties associated with the position, including extensive knowledge of and management of roadway and bridge construction programs/projects in North Carolina, personnel management, and business development. Duties may include:Walking and navigating across rough or uneven terrain such as mud, rocks, grass, dirt, steep hillsides, heavily wooded areas, and other unpaved surfacesMoving around active project sites, which may involve climbing ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, or polesPerforming physical activities such as bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbingRemaining in a stationary position—either standing or sitting—for extended periods of timeRepetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingersDriving to and from project sites and between offices, which may occasionally involve distances of up to or exceeding 400 miles round trip.
