You must be skilled in aseptic and sterile technique, basic dressing changes, ventilator and trach management, suctioning, G/GJ/J-tube management, NG tubes, chest tubes, epidurals, PCA pumps, drip management, foley insertion and management, central line dressing changes and care, central line and peripheral blood draws, discharging patients, and possess strong soft skills such as quick learning, critical thinking, and good time management. To qualify, you need an active RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications, plus at least two years of PICU experience with one year in a pediatric cardiac intensive care unit (PCICU).
