Job DescriptionFull Time: A position working 35+ hours per week. The starting pay range for this position begins at $17.09/hour and is based on the level of qualifications and relevant experience above the minimum requirements.Schedule may vary, but is generally 7am-3:30pm Monday - Friday with occasional weekends.This is a mid-level staff position with responsibilities for plant installation, care, and maintenance in Estate gardens and landscapes. The Gardener II will work as part of a crew assigned to a specific section/area; crews are charged with design, presentation, and execution of gardening plan within established parameters. In addition, staff will assist with special projects and events as required.Note: Ideal candidate will have previous experience working with Woody plant material in Ornamental Landscapes.Requirements<ol><li>High school diploma. A two-year college degree and/or 2 years related on the job training. Industry acknowledged certifications and designations are preferred. B.S in Horticultural field preferred.</li><li>At least two (2) years of related horticultural experience. The ideal candidate will have had prior experience working in a public garden responsible for plant care/maintenance. A combination of education and experience may be considered.</li><li>Strong knowledge of annuals, perennials, herbaceous plants, and/or roses. Candidates should be able to identify plants and proactively trouble shoot on care.</li><li>Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently with little supervision.</li><li>Demonstrated commitment to providing world class guest service (internal and external).</li><li>Ability to exercise good judgment and be proactive; must be comfortable with and able to take initiative as appropriate.</li><li>Ability to become WPS certified within 10 days of hire.</li><li>Acquire a pesticide license within 1 year of hire.</li><li>Applicants must have a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years of age.</li></ol>Physical Requirements<ol><li>Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time; must be able to kneel, stoop, bend, reach below and overhead.</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.</li><li>Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding as needed.</li><li>Ability to safely operate small equipment and machinery (e.g. edgers, mowers, etc.).</li><li>Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather with fluctuations in temperature and conditions.</li><li>Ability to work safely with and around pesticides and other chemicals.</li></ol>Essential Job Duties<ol><li>Performs gardening duties including but not limited to: installing and maintaining plants in greenhouses, gardens, interiors, and landscape settings with minimal supervision.</li><li>Prepares soils and compost as needed for planting with minimal supervision.</li><li>Performs basic grounds maintenance duties including but not limited to: general cleanup, trash removal, weeding, mowing, hauling and handling brush.</li><li>Complies with all safety procedures related to duties.</li><li>Assists guests in a positive, courteous manner.</li><li>Works in an efficient, productive manner.</li><li>Follows instructions, written or verbal.</li><li>Applies pesticides or fertilizers with minimal supervision.</li><li>Works efficiently with minimal supervision.</li><li>Follows daily routine without supervision.</li><li>Operates basic and specialized grounds equipment.</li></ol>

Job Description The starting pay range for this position begins at $16.32/hour and is based on the level of qualifications and relevant experience above the minimum requirements. Reserve: a position working an average of 20 hours per week (anywhere between 40-999 hours per year). The Retail Sales Assistant is responsible for sales, exceptional guest service and accurate cash register operations. This includes assisting guests with making their selections, checking inventory locations for guests, up-selling and cross selling, and increasing revenues. Other responsibilities include opening and closing the shops, performing assigned side work, restocking merchandise and maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the shops. The incumbent will also provide general support and assistance to the leadership, department, and company. Schedules can vary but are generally 6-8 hour shifts, 3 days a week. Shifts can be between the hours of 8:00 am-11:00 pm, . Weekend and evening schedule availability is a requirement for this position. Demonstrated commitment to providing world class guest service. 5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, guest service environment as part of a team. 6. Ability to anticipate guest needs, be proactive, and take initiative where appropriate. 7. Ability to exercise good judgment and multi-task. 8. Some locations may require special skills or experience and/or may have age requirements or restrictions. Physical Requirements: 1. Standing and walking for the majority of time (85%). 2. Ability to lift 25lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally. 3. Ability to climb ladders. 4. High energy and ability to work in a fast paced environment. Essential Job Duties: 1. Greet and welcome all guests. Do all possible to make each guests visit memorable and pleasant. 2. Efficiently handle of large sums of money. 3. Open and close the retail shops. 4. Clean and organize shop to keep shop presentable and representative of the Biltmore brand at all times. 5. Familiarize and keep knowledge of all shop merchandise, old and new, up to date as often as possible. 6. Work effectively with minimal supervision. 7. Provide exceptional guest service. 8. Exhibit proper phone/radio etiquette.
