Major Job Responsibilities Field Operation <ul><li>Report to work on time.</li><li>Remove loose trash and debris from landscape area before mowing.</li><li>Remove weeds from sidewalks, curb lines, and mulch beds.</li><li>Report property damage to Foreman or Lead Person.</li><li>Help crew load and unload equipment at the job site.</li></ul>Client Relations<ul><li>Always be courteous.</li><li>Always wear a clean uniform.</li><li>Know what to do if a client or anyone else asks a question.</li><li>Learn to use the proper equipment for the job being performed.</li></ul>Equipment Use<ul><li>Become certified in the training/certification program for the designated pieces of equipment (21″ mower, 36″ mower, 48″ & 60″ mower, riding mower, blower, edger and weedeater).</li><li>Learn to service/perform the necessary preventative maintenance on equipment.</li><li>Learn the proper loading and unloading of equipment.</li></ul>Safety<ul><li>Attend/participate in company orientation program before performing any work.</li><li>Learn to adhere to all company safety rules/policies.</li><li>Must attend and participate in all tailgate meetings.</li><li>Must use appropriate safety equipment when necessary.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Has a "can-do" attitude</li><li>Gets a job done on time and knows what to do next.</li><li>Volunteers to take on a new or different job, project or responsibility.</li><li>Goes beyond what is expected to do a better job.</li><li>Must be a "team player".Must get along with all co-workers.</li></ul> Typical Qualifications To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. If you prefer working outside with your hands over being confined to an office desk, we invite you to join our growing team. Job Overview:  As a Nursery Labor team member, your responsibilities include caring for our living inventory, including watering, repotting, fertilizing, pruning, and applying pesticide treatments. Nursery Labor team members are also responsible for accepting daily plant deliveries, keeping shelves and work areas organized, and maintaining a facility that is clean, presentable, and well-maintained. This position requires physical strength and stamina, as it involves significant manual labor and working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Candidates should possess the following core competencies:  <ul><li>Prompt and reliable - Timeliness is crucial in caring for our perishable inventory.  </li></ul><ul><li>Attentive and thorough - Subtle differences between plant species and individual specimens are key to organization and care. Working with a sense of urgency, taking initiative, and finishing tasks completely are qualities we require in our department.  </li></ul><ul><li>Desire to learn - No prior horticultural experience is required, but a willingness to learn and adapt is key.  </li></ul><ul><li>Physical stamina - You must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions and be able to lift 65 lbs repeatedly.  </li></ul>Nursery Labor starts at $17/hour with a seasonal, performance-based raise structure.
