You will have an opportunity to be a part of advanced manufacturing, mission critical, DOT, and enormous federal projects in West Texas. Additionally, we operate as a close-knit team and will make sure your input is valued as we win and deliver these transformational projects.Core Responsibilities<ul><li>Performs construction-related field testing and inspections as directed by the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager and Senior Engineer.</li><li>Travels to various construction sites primarily throughout the West Texas area with the potential likely for overnight and/or weekend work as needed.</li><li>Performs field soil and Hot-Mix Asphalt (HMA) density testing using a nuclear density gauge and maintains proper handling procedures in accordance with radiation safety and HAZMAT requirements.</li><li>Performs field quality control testing of in-place concrete, including sampling and testing procedures.</li><li>Relays information to project manager and/or engineer, with limited in-field decision making.</li><li>Transports equipment, test specimens, and documentation to field personnel, laboratory staff, clients, or other offices.</li><li>Provides assistance with equipment setup and testing preparation at project sites.</li><li>Enters daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically.</li><li>Assists other technicians and professional staff with tasks and supports other departments as necessary.</li><li>Follows Atlas safety plans, programs, policies, and procedures.</li><li>Performs IBC Chapter 17 Special Inspections of Reinforced Concrete, Soils, Structural Masonry, Fireproofing, Firestopping, Structural Steel and Bolting, Welding, as applicable.</li><li>Supports projects from proposal through completion to ensure scope, schedule, budget and quality objectives are met</li><li>Maintains communication with clients, contractors, and senior staff as needed</li><li>Directs, where necessary, various activities at projects sites</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul>You’ll thrive here if you have<ul><li>Willingness to travel and/or relocate to projects in West Texas</li><li>Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or nights often in excess of 50 hours per week</li><li>High School Diploma or GED Equivalent</li><li>2+ years of Construction Materials Testing (CMT) experience</li><li>Experience performing soil density testing using a nuclear density gauge</li><li>Completion of Nuclear Density Gauge Safety Training and HAZMAT certification</li><li>Experience performing concrete testing</li><li>Ability to lift and transport testing equipment.</li><li>Ability to maintain clear communication with clients, contractors, Atlas team members, etc.</li><li>Ability to lift and transport material samples and testing equipment, possibly in excess of 50 lbs</li><li>Ability to submit daily summary reports and supporting data electronically on a daily basis</li><li>ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I</li><li>APNGA/HAZMAT Certification for Nuclear Density Gauges</li><li>Familiarity with Submitting CMT Daily Reports</li><li>ACI Concrete Compressive Strength a Plus</li><li>TXAPA, NICET, or ICC Certifications (Reinforced Concrete & Soils) a Plus</li><li>OSHA 10 HR - A Plus</li><li>Experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control</li><li>These sites are in remote locations so the possibility of travel is high. If located near a project site, travel may be minimized. However, if not located near a project site, a full-time presence on site is necessary for a minimum of 60 hours per week.</li><li>Experience working on Mission Critical (including Data Centers, Semiconductor Projects, etc.) or large infrastructure projects is a Plus</li><li>Demonstrated experience collaborating and communicating with team members, contractors, and client representatives</li><li>Ability to read and interpret construction specifications and drawings is a Plus</li></ul>What you can expect from usThe A-Team Experience is our employee program focused on helping our people thrive professionally, personally and as part of a community.
