Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Review and interpret geotechnical, geological, and geophysical data to characterize site conditions for seismic hazard and site response analyses; Perform equivalent linear and nonlinear site response, seismic slope stability, and deformation analyses; Compile and evaluate historical seismicity data, seismic source models, and ground motion models for seismic hazard analyses; Develop ground motion time histories using scaling and spectral matching methods; Perform liquefaction triggering analyses, assess consequences, and develop design mitigation strategies; Evaluate and implement new models and methods for seismic hazard assessments and geotechnical earthquake engineering evaluations; Prepare calculation packages and reports that document the approach, inputs, analyses, and results of seismic assessments; Prepare and deliver presentations and engage in technical discussions with colleagues and clients; and. Our multidisciplinary seismic group supports offices across the firm by performing seismic hazard assessments and geotechnical earthquake engineering evaluations for clients in various market sectors and practice areas including dams and levees, mining and tailings storage, solid and hazardous waste management, electric power generation and transmission, buildings, and critical infrastructure.
