The Walk-In Clinic is part of Providence Alaskas Crisis Stabilization program, providing services across three components: a 23-hour Crisis Stabilization Center for adults 18+, a Short-Term Residential program for adults 18+ with an average length of stay of 3 to 7 days, and a Walk-In Clinic serving as an urgent care for individuals ages 12 and older. The program operates under a 23-hour observation model and serves as an alternative to emergency department boarding and inpatient hospitalization. Because of the acuity and rapid clinical decision-making required, nurse practitioners are a core, on-site presence in the CSC.The CSC provides immediate psychiatric access, reduces emergency department boarding, and prevents unnecessary inpatient admissions.
