Founded in Fort Wayne, IN in 1943, OmniSource, LLC has grown to become one of North America’s largest processors, distributors, and managers of scrap and secondary metals. We collect, process, and resell a wide variety of scrap metal. The company ships over 5 million gross tons of recycled steel and 1 billion pounds of nonferrous and stainless-steel scrap annually.

Our primary collection and processing facilities are concentrated in the Midwest, the South, and the Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. But our reach stretches across North America, utilizing a wide-ranging fleet of trucks, containers, railcars, and barges to collect and haul metals. We expect to continue to expand OmniSource’s footprint, deploying our processing assets to cover new geographical territories, opening new facilities, and making targeted acquisitions.

Supplementing our company-operated scrap collection sites, we also acquire metals from industrial scrap generators with which we have established strategic partnerships. We have designed and installed customized metals-recycling programs, some of which we manage and operate, for manufacturing companies nationwide.

Our national brokerage and trading operations serve both metals buyers and sellers, providing the market intelligence and insights needed to optimize transaction value.

Works closely with other construction team members, including surveyors and equipment operators, to ensure project goals are met. Maintains accurate records of work performed, including materials used, hours worked, and any equipment issues.

Job Summary:The Grader Operator is in charge for operating grading equipment. As well as responsible for achieving precise and accurate grading to create a stable foundation for construction projects. Supervisory Responsibilities:<ul><li style="text-align:justify">None</li></ul> Duties & Responsibilities:<ul><li>Operates and maintains motor graders to perform precise grading work on construction sites.</li><li>Utilizes GPS or laser-guided systems to achieve accurate grading according to project specifications.</li><li>Prepares construction sites by clearing, grading, and leveling surfaces to create a stable foundation.</li><li>Works closely with other construction team members, including surveyors and equipment operators, to ensure project goals are met.</li><li>Adheres to all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.</li><li>Performs routine maintenance and inspections on graders to ensure optimal performance.</li><li>Identifies and address issues or challenges encountered during the grading process.</li><li>Maintains accurate records of work performed, including materials used, hours worked, and any equipment issues.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul> Required Skills & Abilities: <ul><li style="line-height:107%">Proficient in the operation of motor graders and related construction equipment.</li><li style="line-height:107%">Ability to use GPS or laser-guided systems for precise grading.</li><li style="line-height:107%">Excellent mechanical skills.</li><li style="line-height:107%">Ability to follow instructions.</li><li style="line-height:107%">Proficient in the operation of bulldozers and other heavy equipment.</li><li style="line-height:107%">Excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li><li style="line-height:107%">Excellent problem-solving skills. </li></ul> Education & Experience:<ul><li style="line-height:107%">High school diploma or equivalent required.</li><li style="line-height:107%">At least two years of related experience required. </li></ul> Physical Requirements:<ul><li style="line-height:107%">Ability to operate finish graders for extended periods.</li><li style="line-height:107%">Must be able to physically operate heavy equipment.</li><li style="line-height:107%">Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand to operate and repair heavy equipment.</li><li style="line-height:107%">Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures.</li><li style="line-height:107%">Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.</li></ul>
