DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: The 36-bed mixed-acuity unit serves patients who are ventilator dependent through a tracheostomy, have experienced multi-system organ failure, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, renal/liver failure, acid-base and electrolyte imbalances, diabetes mellitus and substance use disorder.
