JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:Patrols electric lines.Assists with troubleshooting service interruptions and electrical outages.Assists in the construction, operation and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution lines under close supervision of a qualified Line Maintainer Journeyman or those of higher classification. Assists in maintaining inventory of test equipment.Assists in investigating customer complaints pertaining to voltage problems, required to climb poles, etc., and takes corrective action.Climbs poles to install wires, line hardware, insulators, crossarms, wooden timbers, and any other apparatus.Repairs electric distribution systems and substations in order to maintain service to customers.Learns the operation of a digger truck and usage of lineman tools.Troubleshoots overhead and underground circuits.Assists in switching and restoring service on distribution lines and substations.Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
