Georgian Court University has an opening for Adjunct Faculty in History for the Fall 2026 semester (beginning September 1) in a dual enrollment program for high school students at a local high school in Ocean County, NJ. Teach 2 sections of World History Survey to 1500. This position is In-Person, Monday and Wednesday, from 11:00 AM to 1:50 PM. Appreciation for students enrolled in dual high school/university courses is essential. World History Survey to 1500 (HST-120), 2 sections. This is a part-time, non-tenure track position which is appointed on a per semester basis. Essential Functions: Teach 3 or more credits per semester of history courses. Provide reasonable office hours for students. Follow course syllabi provided. Complete formal course assessment report at the end of the semester. Integrate the core values of respect, compassion, integrity, justice and service in all aspects of interaction. Willingness to complete Blackboard Ultra training program (online or on Lakewood campus) before classes begin. Qualifications: • Advanced degree in History, Ph.D. preferred. • Evidence of teaching excellence in college-level history courses. • Strong course evaluations and/or strong recommendations from supervisors. • Experience with course management systems, such as Blackboard. Overview:
Realize the joy of possibility by providing academic, social, and emotional services for students who need additional support to shine in school. Utilize SESI’s proven instructional models, strategies, and curriculum. Conduct frequent and appropriate assessments, use data to develop and implement instructional plans, and collaborate with school teams and families to drive outcomes.

Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Work with a diverse group of students from varying developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.</li><li>Teach knowledge and skills, nurture confidence and character, and provide individualized attention to meet the needs of all students.</li><li>Use assessment data to modify short- and long-term plans to promote students’ academic performance.</li><li>Develop and maintain skill-appropriate lesson plans.</li><li>Collaborate with team members to foster an environment of critical thinking and academic rigor.</li><li>Apply the school’s behavior support and intervention strategies.</li><li>Implement de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint if necessary to maintain the safety of students and team members.</li><li>Drive, record, and track student growth and progress toward goals; develop and maintain required forms and files.</li><li>Participate in the school’s daily functions (e.g., morning, lunch, afternoon supervisory duties), as well as conferences, meetings, and training.</li></ul>SESI.Teacher.1
