Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital seeks a Medication History Pharmacy Technician. This role is responsible for obtaining an accurate medication history by interviewing patients and consulting with their outpatient pharmacies. Major Accountabilities include: <ul><li>Obtain medication histories on all assigned patients during scheduled shifts.</li><li>Perform patient and/or caregiver interviews to obtain allergies and dose, route, frequency, indication, and date/time last dose taken of current medications including prescriptions, over the counter medications, and herbal supplements.</li></ul> QUALIFICATIONS:All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently. Education: <ul><li>Preferred: Degree in Pharmacology.</li></ul>Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: <ul><li>Minimum: Pharmacy Technician Licensure by the California State Board of Pharmacy.</li><li>Preferred: Above plus/and National Pharmacy Technician Board Certification Medication History Certificate.</li></ul>Technical Requirements: <ul><li>Minimum: Computer skills and knowledge of pharmacy technology.</li><li>Preferred: Familiarity with EPIC.</li></ul>Years of Related Work Experience: <ul><li>Minimum: 3 years experience.</li><li>Preferred: At least 1-2 years of related outpatient/retail pharmacy experience (order processing, prescription adjudication, third party problem resolution, and customer service).</li></ul> Cottage Health is a leading acute care hospital system, located on the central coast of California, widely known for our superior patient care, innovation, medical research and education.
