Responsibilities Newport News Behavioral Health Center is a 108 bed intensive and highly structured residential treatment for psychiatric and behavioral health needs of adolescent males and females ages 11-18yrs. Newport News has an on-site certified school, therapists, and vocational programming. Newport News, VA is a beautiful seaside city, rich in maritime history and conveniently located to DC and other major North Eastern cities. Position Summary This position is responsible for planning and providing instructionof students assigned to classrooms. He/She participates in departmental meetings, completes paperwork pertaining to assessment, individualized education plans, monitoring student progress, reporting student progress, and transition planning as related to each student's educational needs. Provides education case management for students assigned to classrooms. He/She must maintain ongoing communication with the facility staff, families, and each student's agency stakeholder. Primary Duties & Responsibilities <ul><li> Administers and interprets informal educational assessments within 5 days of admission to plan each student's educational program. </li><li> Reviews records and information received from the student's home school to plan the educational program.
