The History Faculty role will teach all assigned courses and actively support departmental initiatives in advancing student success and fulfilling the mission of Odessa College. Contribute to a collaborative academic environment by engaging in departmental activities, supporting instructional goals, and maintaining a commitment to high-quality education and student-centered service.### Specific Position Duties<ul><li>Teach assigned courses within the curriculum, ensuring effective delivery of course content and student engagement.</li><li>Teach Web, Web-enhanced, and ITV classes as assigned, utilizing a variety of instructional technologies, including Tegrity.</li><li>Teach CollegeNow (dual credit) courses in accordance with institutional and program guidelines.</li><li>Assist with student recruitment, advising, and retention initiatives.</li><li>Actively participate in departmental and campus-wide committees and service activities.</li><li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge in the teaching field and incorporate current practices into instruction.</li><li>Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to teach a variety of courses, schedules, locations, and delivery formats as assigned by the college.</li><li>Develop and assign appropriately challenging coursework that supports student growth and achievement.</li><li>Provide clear written expectations to students, including syllabi, course policies, assignment instructions, and grading criteria.</li><li>Develop, administer, and evaluate assessments aligned with course objectives, including comprehensive final examinations.</li><li>Foster a learning environment that affirms the worth and dignity of all individuals and supports the right of all students to learn.</li><li>Maintain an appropriate classroom climate in traditional, online, and distance learning environments that encourages the free exchange of ideas while upholding academic integrity and objectivity.</li><li>Prepare thoroughly for classes and arrive promptly for all instructional activities, including lectures, labs, and scheduled sessions.</li><li>Deliver course material in a clear, organized, and understandable manner.</li><li>Address student questions, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner through class interaction, office hours, electronic communication, and other appropriate channels.</li></ul>### Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>Masters degree with 18 or more graduate hours in History from a regionally accredited institution.</li><li>Demonstrated computer literacy and proficiency with instructional and academic technologies.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to teach students from a wide range of ages and academic backgrounds, including high school students enrolled in dual credit courses.</li><li>Excellent communication and presentation skills.</li><li>Strong work ethic with a demonstrated commitment to professionalism and reliability.</li><li>Commitment to teaching excellence and continuous improvement in instructional practices.</li></ul>### Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Annual Salary</li><li>Hiring range</li></ul>Work Hours

Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.Qualifications:
