The unit uses the MIDAS system and specialized equipment including a Datascope intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), Baxter cardiac output, an automated coagulation timer (ACT) machine, an American Optical Unistat oximeter, a Medrad injector, Life Pak, a defibrillator, Sony digital systems, and a GE Advantx X-ray system. Unit Details: The department performs before-, during-, and after-care for invasive, interventional, and therapeutic procedures and studies involving cardiac, vascular arterial and venous, and structural heart disorders; cardiac rhythm abnormalities; device and lead implantation and removal; and therapeutic catheter ablations.
