About Our Opportunity: The Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a critical role in driving incremental revenue growth by identifying, opening, and scaling new business opportunities across Northern California. This role is not a traditional territory maintenance position, it is a true hunter role, focused on prospecting, onboarding, and developing new dealer, distributor, and regional account relationships across targeted channels. The BDM will concentrate on the Professional Construction and Automotive/Marine Detailing trades, leading growth initiatives for FLEX Power Tools and Accessories and SKILSAW. This position will work closely with internal Sales Leadership, Marketing, Product, and Operations teams to establish Chervon brands as preferred solutions in priority trades and retail formats. Key Job Responsibilities: Sales Target Achievement: <ul><li>Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.</li><li>Recruit and onboard new dealers in alignment with annual goals. </li></ul>Business Development: <ul><li>Identify, target, and secure new dealer, distributor, and strategic accounts across territory that align with Chervon's Professional Construction and Auto/Marine Detailing trade strategy.</li><li>Prospect aggressively through cold calling, in-person field activity, networking, referrals, and industry engagement to consistently generate new opportunities.</li><li>Build, manage, and advance a qualified pipeline of new business aligned with annual revenue and new-account growth targets.</li><li>Lead the full account development cycle-from initial prospecting and onboarding through first order and early-stage ramp-up-ensuring strong launch execution.</li><li>Develop relationships with key trade influencers including contractors, installers, detailers, shop owners, and regional trade groups to drive end-user demand and dealer pull-through. </li></ul>Dealer / Customer Support and Relationship Management: <ul><li>Focus on high-potential segments including: <ul><li>Independent dealers and regional distributors</li><li>Trade-focused retail formats</li><li>Emerging professional and specialty channels</li></ul></li><li>Lead account onboarding, launch execution, and early-stage sales enablement for newly onboarded and high-growth accounts.</li><li>Build high-impact relationships that accelerate new account growth and position Chervon brands for long-term success.</li><li>Partner with dealers to expand their businesses through product demonstrations, store or trade events, product line reviews, and targeted training that drives adoption and sell-through.</li><li>Support early-stage account growth through launch planning, promotional alignment, and sell-through strategies.</li><li>Generate end-user demand by cultivating relationships with key trade stakeholders and influencers in priority segments. </li></ul>Channel and Marketing Support: <ul><li>Execute FLEX and SKIL brand marketing initiatives at the dealer and trade level, ensuring alignment with targeted trade segments and go-to-market priorities.</li><li>Represent Chervon at industry events, trade shows, and regional dealer functions to build brand awareness, open new opportunities, and support account acquisition.</li><li>Partner with Marketing and Sales Leadership to activate launch programs, promotions, and merchandising that drive adoption and sell-through in priority accounts.</li><li>Provide timely, actionable field feedback on product performance, competitive activity, pricing dynamics, and the effectiveness of marketing initiatives to inform ongoing strategy. </li></ul>Additional Duties: <ul><li>Earn trust and respect from internal and external stakeholders by consistently demonstrating integrity.</li><li>Manage travel and time efficiently to maximize productivity while adhering to budget constraints.</li><li>Utilize CRM software effectively to maintain detailed records and manage customer relationships.</li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned. </li></ul>Required Education & Experience:<ul><li>5+ years of experience in business development, territory sales, or distributor sales within power tools, construction supply, automotive, marine, or adjacent professional trade industries.</li><li>Demonstrated success opening, developing, and scaling new accounts in a competitive, field-based sales environment.</li><li>Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets, with accountability for revenue growth.</li><li>Direct experience selling into professional trades (e.g., construction, automotive, marine, detailing, specialty trades), not solely retail or distribution-only environments.</li><li>Existing relationships within construction supply, independent tool dealers, detailing distributors, or specialty trade channels strongly preferred.</li><li>Experience launching, rebuilding, or expanding brands within a defined territory is strongly preferred.</li><li>Strong prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills, with the ability to move opportunities from initial contact through onboarding and early growth.</li><li>Sound business and financial acumen, with the ability to evaluate opportunity size, pricing, and long-term profitability.</li><li>Ability to work independently in the field while collaborating effectively with internal Sales, Marketing, Product, and Operations teams.</li><li>Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build high-impact, growth-oriented relationships.</li><li>Bachelor's degree in business or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Bilingual Spanish preferred.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and CRM or related sales software.</li><li>Salary Range: $80k to $100k+ </li></ul>Travel:<ul><li>This position requires 60-70% travel with the assigned territory, involving overnight stays.</li><li>Must be capable of driving a company truck and pulling a company trailer as needed. </li></ul> Work Environment: Expected to work in diverse office and professional environments, client locations and trade shows.
