The Superintendent will be responsible for the on-site managementof high voltage projects including transmission & distribution, substation and data centers. The position will report concentrate on field coordination and production, safety, and quality compliance. Location & Travel: You can be based in any city or state in the United States. This is a traveling position encompassing work sites in the Midwest. Must be capable of up to 75% travel (e.g. 3 weeks or 15 days per month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job, and the employee must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing. Responsibilities <ul><li> Reports to the Operations Manager daily. </li><li>Review project drawings and do a material takeoff to ensure an accurate BOM. </li><li>Meet with the local IBEW to discuss the project and manpower requirements. </li><li>Determine equipment needs and coordinate with fleet to schedule delivery. </li><li>Walkdown the project prior to construction for site layout. </li><li>Oversee site construction from below grade work through completion. </li><li>Ensure all safety and quality requirements are followed by performing observations and immediately addressing any deviations. </li><li>Mentor crew members. </li><li>Coordinate with subcontractors to confirm they are on schedule and following site policies. </li><li>Attend project meetings and report as required. </li><li>Coordinate with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, crew and back-office personnel. </li><li>Assist Project Manager with change orders. </li><li>Layout and maintain a 3-week look-ahead schedule. </li><li>Provide work tasks and job progression for the Plan of the Day (POD). </li><li>Update overall schedule as the job progresses. </li><li>Coordinate with Testing group prior to commissioning. </li><li>Ensure any punch-list items are addressed to the Owner's satisfaction. </li><li>Red-line drawings to reflect as-built conditions. </li><li>Review and approve General Foreman timecards in Heavy Bid. </li><li>Safety planning for all field operations and activities along a busy road right away, rock boring, environmental hazards, and fire hazards. </li><li>Personnel management, including setting production goals, safety goals and quality goals. </li><li>Identify resources needed, including personnel and equipment for job sites. </li><li>Manage and update the work schedule. </li><li>Contribute to the monthly cost to complete projects and advise the Project Manager. </li><li>Weekly quantities completed and accurately reported. </li><li>Review progress and performance weekly with the Project Manager. </li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Required to have 10 to 15+ years of experience with thorough knowledge of all aspects of substation construction. </li><li>High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or related field, preferred).
