This remote position provides technical support related to PFAS and other environmental contamination, on characterization/remediation projects for federal, state, commercial and industrial clients. The candidate will support the planning, execution, and management of complex projects and field programs. This position requires the ability to evaluate chemical distribution and transport through soils, groundwater, surface water, and sediment to reach sound technical conclusions and present/document findings. The candidate will plan and conduct (with supervision by project management) tasks such as pilot tests and treatability studies, engineering designs, construction oversight, operation, and maintenance (O&M), and report writing.Responsibilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The work packages include but not limited to remedial designs, specifications, and drawings; work plans; technical memorandum; data evaluation reports; cost estimates, etc.</li><li>Support project managers and subject matter experts in evaluation of emerging and innovative technologies via research, design and testing of emergent technologies, including PFAS.</li><li>Support the development, planning, and implementation of sampling programs for multi-media environmental sampling, addressing impacts to soil, groundwater, sediment, and surface water.</li><li>Contribute to proposal efforts by performing increasingly detailed cost estimates to address contaminants at various sites. Candidate will also draft key text elements of proposals, planning documents, and project reports.</li><li>Develop technical specifications, scopes and cost estimates to support procurement of subcontractors including environmental remediation contractors, drillers, analytical laboratories, etc., and assist evaluation of bids and pricing.</li><li>Perform field inspections and monitoring activities at client sites. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaboration and mentoring are cornerstones of Geosyntec’s culture. You may also be asked to take on project management responsibilities, along with staff management and development, and mentoring tasks.<ul><li>Apply experience, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills for the development and review of technical approaches, detailed power design, and where applicable support our system automation and controls engineers.</li><li>Design and develop electrical systems in accordance with applicable specifications, codes, and standards. Possess comprehensive knowledge of NFPA, NESC, and IEEE guidelines and publications.</li><li>Perform electrical design calculations, including load flow analysis, short circuit studies, and protective device coordination assessments. Proficient in utilizing electrical engineering software such as ETAP, SKM, or comparable applications.</li><li>Proficient in reading, interpreting, and developing P&IDs.</li><li>Prepare and update technical documentation and drawings—including single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, lighting, grounding, OEM equipment specifications, hazardous area classifications, utility service requests, construction specifications, etc.—for power and systems in accordance with applicable industry codes and standards.</li><li>Conduct site surveys and inspections to assess installation and operation of both electrical and control systems.</li><li>Responsible for scoping, scheduling, and budgeting requirements for the electrical design of process engineering projects and proposals including estimating labor, material, or construction costs for budget preparation purposes.</li><li>Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.</li><li>Recruit, manage, and mentor early- and mid-career staff and designers. </li><li>Task and project-level responsibility for scoping, performing, managing and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments. </li><li>Consistent with our sell-manage-do business model, play a role supporting lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring.</li><li>Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.  </li></ul>

Education and Licensure:

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
<ul><li style="text-align: left;">At least 8 years (10+ years preferred) of progressive experience in electrical engineering with a focus on the design, construction, and operation of process engineering projects, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)</li><li style="text-align: left;">Strong background with industrial equipment, electrical motors and VFDs, power distribution, building service and wiring, and process controls/automation. (required)</li><li style="text-align: left;">Demonstrated working knowledge with applicable codes (i.e. NFPA, IEEE, etc.) and Federal and State regulations. (required)</li><li style="text-align: left;">Experience with the development and delivery of Electrical Safety and Arc Flash Hazard analyses and associated documentation. (preferred)</li><li style="text-align: left;">Excellent leadership and detail-orientation skills. (required)</li><li style="text-align: left;">Direct water, wastewater, industrial, and/or environmental consulting experience. You will be the ‘go to’ engineering resource for their region when technical advice is needed and will use your subject matter expertise as well as engage with diverse teams to meet the commitment of superior service to the clients.As a Field Engineer, you will be leading projects to fit out Switch data centers to meet ever-evolving clients needs as we continue expanding our fleet to support hyper-scale and beyond.<h2></h2><h2>What You’ll Do</h2><ul><li>Perform design and equipment submittal review for new Data Centers.</li><li>Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures.</li><li>Directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, including critical equipment, and event support.</li><li>Own the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions, which add capacity, improve availability, and increase efficiency.</li><li>Lead, Review, and approve designs for existing data center upgrades which improve availability/efficiency.</li><li>Interface with internal data center design engineering team, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.</li><li>Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.</li><li>Initiate and lead engineering site audits within Switch data centers. Produce reports outlining risks with recommended mitigations and remediations.</li><li>Act as resident engineer during new construction projects.
