You’ll leverage this expertise to define project objectives, outline detailed delivery plans, and ensure alignment with customers’ business goals. Throughout the project lifecycle, you will collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including consultants, software engineers, end users, sales teams, and senior leadership, while maintaining transparency, accountability, and clear communication. Key Responsibilities: Project Delivery Excellence & Customer Experience + Oversee the entire project lifecycle for large, high-risk, and often multi-region initiatives—managing timelines, deliverables, and quality standards to meet aggressive yet achievable deadlines. + Define and document clear project scope and objectives, preventing scope creep by continuously aligning all stakeholders with the project’s goals and deliverables. + Utilize Rocket’s project management framework to optimize workflows, accelerate time to value, and ensure customer-centric outcomes. + Coordinate requirement-gathering sessions, project kickoff meetings, status updates, and review meetings, maintaining transparency and alignment between internal teams and external clients. + Act as the primary interface with customers, forging trust-based relationships grounded in Rocket’s core values of Empathy, Humanity, Trust, and Love. + Monitor project risks and proactively address any challenges, conflicts, or schedule deviations to maintain project momentum and a positive customer experience. Revenue Optimization & Portfolio Management + Collaborate with internal and customer stakeholders to match project resources, schedules, and financial parameters with contractual requirements. + Maintain transparent communication to set clear expectations around timelines, scope, and any potential risks affecting delivery or cost. + Provide reliable financial forecasts to management, adjusting as necessary based on evolving project scopes and timelines. + Collaborate closely with Sales to proactively identify and pursue additional revenue opportunities, particularly for complex, high-risk engagements, by leveraging on-the-ground insights during project delivery to align emerging customer needs with Rocket’s broader solutions portfolio. + Lead or support early qualification and opportunity assessment for significant modernization projects, ensuring alignment with Rocket’s strategic objectives. + Maintain a well-rounded portfolio of customer engagements, balancing priorities and resource allocations to maximize both revenue potential and customer satisfaction. Operational Excellence & Process Transformation + Implement and continuously improve standardized policies, procedures, and best practices that support consistent, high-quality project delivery. + Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze project data to identify trends, address inefficiencies, and enhance operational effectiveness. + Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making, refine delivery approaches, and recommend process optimizations that reduce complexity, cost, and time-to-market. + Establish clear governance structures and reporting processes, providing stakeholders with real-time visibility into project progress, financial health, and risk status. + Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reinforce Rocket’s commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and delivering transformative customer outcomes. Team Leadership & Development + Mentor and coach project managers to enhance their leadership and delivery capabilities. + Guide project managers in handling customer escalations with a problem-solving mindset, ensuring resolutions align with Rocket’s values and maintain strong customer trust. + Develop and implement career development plans for team members. + Drive a culture of continuous learning, fostering knowledge sharing across teams. + Implement coaching frameworks to support exceptional customer experiences and project outcomes. Cross-Functional Collaboration + Partner with Account Executives during project delivery to keep them informed on progress, collaborate on customer challenges, and seek their support in resolving key issues. + Collaborate with Product Development to align project execution with the product roadmap. + Work closely with Customer Success Management, Product Engineering, and Delivery Engineering to ensure seamless customer engagements. + Facilitate communication between technical and business stakeholders, driving alignment on project goals and priorities. Requirements: Education & Certifications + Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, a related field, or equivalent experience. + Project management certification preferred (e.g., PMP, PgMP). + Additional certifications in Agile methodologies are beneficial. Experience: + 12+ years of progressive project management experience, preferably with enterprise-scale portfolios in a professional services organization of a software company (or equivalent related experience). + 6+ years leading senior-level customer-facing project managers in a strategic or operational leadership role. + Proven track record of driving revenue growth and business transformation through project delivery in a software, SaaS, or enterprise software environment. + Experience in cross-functional collaboration within SaaS companies, enterprise software organizations, or consulting environments, working across teams to align project goals and ensure successful delivery. Job Description Summary: Rocket Software is looking for a Senior Product Manager to own a high-impact portfolio spanning Rocket Direct TMON, the Rocket Direct Storage suite, and the IBM Storage portfolio. Knowledge of the IBM mainframe software market is highly desirable. These are established, revenue-generating products serving some of the most demanding enterprise environments in the world — mainframe and hybrid infrastructure customers who depend on them every day. The Senior Product Manager will manage the mainframe software product throughout its lifecycle, gather and prioritize requirements, clarify the product vision, and work closely with Engineering and Sales to deliver winning products. It also includes working with Marketing and support to drive revenue and customer satisfaction. They will ensure that the product and marketing efforts support the overall business strategy and goals. You will join a passionate, hyper-integrated team that moves fast, thinks in customer outcomes, and values pragmatism over process. We need someone who brings an out-of-the-box creative mindset, can quickly identify the highest-leverage growth opportunities in a mature product portfolio, and has the drive to execute against them with a world-class engineering team. _It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing!_ Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Own the portfolio strategy and roadmap   + Build and continuously sharpen a revenue-growth strategy for your three-product portfolio, identifying the highest-value features and positioning moves that align customer demand with available engineering capacity.  + Own the product roadmap end-to-end: translate business cases into prioritized decisions, manage engineering trade-offs transparently, and communicate direction clearly to all stakeholders.  + Identify and evaluate partnership, licensing, and ecosystem opportunities that extend the portfolio's reach.   Be the voice of the customer   + Build deep, direct relationships with customers across segments and geographies; spend meaningful time in their environments to surface unmet needs and validate solutions before they hit engineering.  + Champion the customer's perspective in every product, roadmap, and prioritization conversation — especially when it conflicts with internal preferences.  + Monitor the competitive landscape internationally and ensure Rocket's products are differentiated and well-positioned relative to our strategy.   Drive cross-functional execution   + Partner with Engineering on technically complex problems that require deep product and platform knowledge to solve well; help the team make smart trade-off decisions under real-world constraints.  + Enable the Sales team with clear positioning, competitive intelligence, and effective customer-facing collateral; brief partners and the internal sales force on releases, lifecycle changes, and pricing policy.  + Collaborate with Marketing and Support to design go-to-market motions that actually move revenue and improve customer satisfaction — not just launch and forget.  + Evangelize product vision constantly so every stakeholder — engineering, sales, support, leadership — stays aligned and understands where the portfolio is heading and why Required Qualifications: + 5+ years of product management experience in enterprisemainframesoftware, with a demonstrable record of growing revenue or contribution margin for existing products.  + Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder products in an Agile development environment.  + The ability to ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information and thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually demanding and service-oriented environment.  + Strong command of both qualitative and quantitative methods for prioritization and decision-making — you know how to combine customer interviews, usage data, and financial models to make a compelling case.  + Possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy that includes a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality.  + The ability to manage time and schedules to meet aggressive deadlines and influence through persuasive written and verbal communication.  + Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams — engineering, sales, marketing, support — without relying on formal authority.  + Demonstrated success defining and launching excellentproducts.   + Excellent written and verbal communication skills: you can write a sharp business case, run a tight customer discovery session, and present confidently to executives or large audiences.  + A unique blend of business acumen and technical curiosity — you do not need to write code, but you need to earn the respect of a pragmatic engineering team by understanding what is hard, what is expensive, and what is not worth building.  + Comfortable handling confidential information with discretion and thriving in a fast-paced, intellectually demanding environment.  Preferred (nice to have, not required)   + Background in enterprise infrastructure software — storage management, performance monitoring, systems management, or related domains.  + Familiarity with mainframe, IBM Power, or hybrid cloud/on-premises environments and the operational realities of long-lived, mission-critical deployments.  + MBA or related Master's degree.  Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience. MBA or relevant Master's degree preferred but not required.  Travel Requirements: <25%, including international travel, fluctuates to meet business and customer needs.
