EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Has a high school diploma or equivalent; Has valid Massachusetts driver''s license; Has experience in custodial work preferred, but not required; Has knowledge of and experience using custodial cleaning supplies and equipment preferred, but not required; Has basic knowledge and experience regarding the repair of custodial cleaning equipment preferred, but not required; Has knowledge related to electrical, plumbing, heating/HVAC, mechanical, and fire alarm systems preferred, but not required; Has ability to work both indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions and climates, to perform custodial duties and responsibilities such as several hours per day standing, walking, sitting, lifting (i.e., frequently up to 50 lbs. picking up rubbish and debris, emptying and cleaning of all rubbish and recycling containers, disposing of trash or relocating of recycled materials as required, sweeping and washing hallways and classroom floors, dusting, cleaning and polishing furniture and shades, vacuuming carpets, striping wax and re-waxing floors, mopping (dry and wet), scrubbing, washing and disinfecting floors, sinks, drinking fountains, toilets, etc.
