This position is open due to the continued growth of both the firm and its practice group. The team supports a broad portfolio of clients and offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative, fast-paced legal environment with exposure to sophisticated employment-based immigration matters.The Immigration Paralegal will work closely with attorneys and clients to support a variety of business immigration matters, while helping manage active caseloads and maintain high levels of client service and responsiveness. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys writing, organization, deadline management, and working directly with individuals from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds.Responsibilities: <ul><li>Prepare and coordinate employment-based immigration filings and supporting documentation for submission to various government agencies, including USCIS, the Department of Labor, and the Department of State</li><li>Draft detailed correspondence, support letters, forms, and case documentation related to visa and immigration matters</li><li>Communicate directly with corporate clients, foreign nationals, and government agencies regarding case status, required documentation, and filing timelines</li><li>Review, organize, and analyze supporting materials to ensure accuracy and completeness of submissions</li><li>Maintain and manage active case files, calendars, deadlines, and follow-up activities</li><li>Partner closely with attorneys and internal team members to ensure timely and high-quality client service</li><li>Assist with research, fact gathering, and document preparation for a variety of immigration-related matters</li><li>Support continuous workflow management in a deadline-driven environment with multiple competing priorities</li></ul> Requirements:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience </li><li>Prior paralegal, legal support, or other professional writing-intensive experience preferred </li><li>Immigration experience a plus, but not required</li><li>Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft polished, professional documentation </li><li>Exceptional attention to detail, proofreading ability, and organizational skills </li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness </li><li>Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment </li><li>Professional communication style with the ability to interact effectively with individuals across varying industries and cultural backgrounds</li></ul>

Students interested in the legal field work under the supervision of a staff legal assistant and provide support to program attorneys. This internship opportunity allows individuals to sharpen the following skills: <ul><li>Client intake </li><li>Document preparation </li><li>Data entry </li><li>Court observation </li><li>Filing </li></ul>Legal Aid provides a limited number of internship opportunities for college and paralegal students. College students can apply for internships for the summer following their sophomore year. These are generally available in each unit: Family Law, Housing and Consumer Law, Education Law, Immigration, and Attorney for the Child. Benefits: <ul><li>Direct supervision and training </li><li>Build relationships with attorneys and legal staff </li><li>Attend LASROC meetings and events </li><li>Up to $8 per day for parking </li></ul> While we are hybrid, the best experience comes from being in the office, which is required for those who will have courtroom time. We are located in Rochester NY [Monroe County] and do not offer remote opportunities. Please check the school guidelines if you plan to intern for school credit or fulfill a program requirement. Some school programs may limit the number of hours that can be completed remotely or have other criteria to be considered an internship versus volunteering.
