Performs monitoring and oversight inspections of work performed by private and/or contracted jurisdiction Certified Elevator Inspectors on new, existing and altered, operating elevators to ensure compliance with Elevator Safety Codes (ASME A17.1 and A17.3), National Electrical Code, Florida Statutes Chapter 399, Florida Administrative Code 61C-5, Handicapped Laws and Fire Safety Rules of the State Fire Marshal's Office. This position conducts monitoring and oversight inspections to enforce the elevator safety codes for safety, mechanical, electrical, and general maintenance, and performs inspections of new building construction, associated facilities and building systems, and enforcing compliance with state building and life safety codes.
