Key Responsibilities:</div><ul><li style="text-align:justify"> Perform on-site inspections of roads, bridges, and municipal infrastructure projects.</li><li style="text-align:justify"> Ensure all construction and pavement inspections comply with AASHTO and ASTM standards.</li><li style="text-align:justify"> Oversee foundation installations for bridges and retaining walls; prior geotechnical inspection experience is a plus.</li><li style="text-align:justify"> Supervise and document materials testing, including pavement cores, soil compaction, and concrete quality.</li><li style="text-align:justify"> Utilize nuclear and electrical density gauges for field compaction testing (a plus).</li><li style="text-align:justify"> Review contractor work to ensure it aligns with plans, specifications, and safety standards.</li><li style="text-align:justify"> Prepare detailed inspection reports, technical documentation, and compliance evaluations.</li><li style="text-align:justify"> Coordinate with government agencies, contractors, and project stakeholders.</li><li style="text-align:justify"> Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and field inspectors.</li></ul><div style="text-align:justify"> Qualifications & Skills:</div><ul><li style="text-align:justify"> Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master's a plus).</li><li style="text-align:justify"> PE License in Illinois (required).</li><li style="text-align:justify"> 10+ years of experience in construction inspection, roads, bridges, or pavement engineering.</li><li style="text-align:justify"> Strong knowledge of AASHTO and ASTM standards related to construction inspection.</li><li style="text-align:justify"> Experience with geotechnical foundation inspections (preferred).</li><li style="text-align:justify"> Familiarity with nuclear density gauges and electrical density testing (preferred).</li><li style="text-align:justify"> Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and materials testing results.</li><li style="text-align:justify"> Excellent technical writing and communication skills.</li></ul>
