With offices nationwide and abroad, NV5 helps clients plan, design, build, test, certify, and operate projects that improve the communities where we live and work. We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support our growing CEI department. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience managing construction projects in Florida, with experience working for and with the Florida Department of Transportation. The candidate will manage our team of field inspectors and project administration staff on highway and bridge construction projects. Responsibilities will consist of monitoring project construction progress while managing multiple CEI projects and marketing upcoming CEI pursuits. Be involved in projects with our Mine Waste Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges. #GlobalMiningYour Impact<ul><li>Perform construction quality control and assurance testing for earthworks including field density testing, visual inspections and soil sampling</li><li>Perform construction quality control and assurance testing for geomembrane installation.</li><li>Collect, compile, and analyze data from the physical work site, surveys, structural plans, blueprints, schematics, data, technical drawings, flow diagrams, material sampling, computer-generated reports, and other matrices for single, multi-phase, or multi-site field inspection activities.</li><li>Use field testing equipment to perform inspections on projects of moderate complexity and/or scope, including proposed and existing site conditions, equipment, construction, materials, controls, resources, layout, alignment, and elevation to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, codes, and construction or operating permits.</li><li>Follow standard practices to provide technical assistance and guidance that accounts for the proper inspection, construction, and functioning of earthworks and concrete structures, materials, and/or mechanical systems according to design standard specifications.</li><li>Act as consultant regarding work progress and problem resolution; may serve as the only inspector on a construction project or assist in overseeing construction inspection activities for projects of a moderate scope and complexity within a district.</li><li>Monitor project phasing plans and contractors' work to ensure quality control and contract compliance; documenting work progress and issues arising throughout scope of project.</li><li>Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work.</li><li>Attend pre-construction meetings and answer questions from contractors and other attendees.</li><li>Write field reports summarizing inspection findings and conclusions;
