Performs technical building inspections (commercial and residential) and plans examining work to enforce compliance with building codes, regulations and ordinances; conduct research on new construction materials and methods; reviews plans for compliance with city, state, and federal rules and regulations; and provides information to and works with the public to resolve problems. Must be able to obtain an ICC Inspector (Plumbing, Mechanical, or Electrical) or Plans Examiner Certification within 6 months of employment and/or Commercial or Residential Building Inspector within 12 months).
