Overview The Senior Vice President, Care Excellence is a system-level executive leader reporting to the EVP, Chief Operating Officer, accountable for enterprise alignment of quality improvement, clinical excellence, patient experience, and high-reliability performance acrossCarle Health. This role provides clear strategic and operational alignment for how quality, safety, patient experience, and clinical outcomes are defined, measured, and executed across all hospitals, ambulatory sites, and care settings. The SVP, Care Excellence ensures that organizational priorities, standards, and expectations are consistently understood and operationalized, resulting in reliable, high-quality, and compassionate care for patients and families at every point of care. Responsibilities Enterprise Quality & Clinical Excellence <ul><li>Provides enterprise leadership to align quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical excellence strategies with system goals, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards. </li><li>Ensures consistent performance expectations and outcomes across regions, service lines, and care settings. </li><li>Establishes standardized frameworks, improvement methodologies, and accountability structures that enable sustained clinical excellence and reduced variation. </li></ul>High Reliability & Accreditation<ul><li>Maintains a formal dyad partnership with the ACMO and Chief Quality Officer to align High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles, safety culture, and continuous readiness efforts. </li><li>Ensures enterprise alignment of ISO principles, accreditation standards, regulatory compliance, and survey preparedness activities (e.g., DNV, IDPH). </li><li>Uses professional governance processes, performance dashboards, and escalation pathways </li><li>Promote transparency and accountability. </li></ul>Patient Experience & Service Excellence<ul><li>Serves as the executive sponsor responsible for aligning patient experience and service excellence priorities across the system. </li><li>Partners with operational, clinical, and experience leaders to embed Carle Experience principles into daily practice and leadership expectations. </li><li>Drives consistency in patient and family experience across inpatient, outpatient, and virtual care environments; amplifies the work of regional Patient & Family Advisory Councils. </li></ul>Clinical Education & Talent Development<ul><li>Directs the enterprise strategy for effective clinical onboarding, competency development, and ongoing professional education. </li><li>Oversees clinical pathway and professional development programs, facilitating strong relationships with academic partners and working with regional operational and HR leaders to assure effective talent pipelines. </li></ul>Clinical Performance Analytics & Insights<ul><li>Oversees Clinical and Business Intelligence (Data Analytics) to align performance measurement, reporting, and insights with enterprise improvement priorities. </li><li>Ensures leaders and frontline teams have timely, actionable data to support quality, experience, throughput, and resource stewardship. </li><li>Promotes a culture of data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement. </li></ul>Care Coordination, Access & Flow<ul><li>Provides matrix support and leadership to align inpatient care management and outpatient care coordination strategies with system access, throughput, and continuity-of-care goals. </li><li>Partners with operational and medical leaders to reduce barriers, and improve transitions </li><li>Ehance reliability across the care continuum. </li></ul>Enterprise Collaboration & Influence<ul><li>Collaborates closely with executive, physician, nursing, and operational leaders to align priorities, expectations, and execution across the organization. </li><li>Influences outcomes through partnership and shared accountability rather than direct line authority. </li><li>Sponsors multidisciplinary improvement initiatives that are aligned to system strategy and scalable across regions and service lines. </li></ul>Qualifications Certifications:<ul><li>N/A </li></ul>Education: <ul><li>Advanced Degree - Related, MSN, MHA, MBA, DNP, or Equivalent </li><li>With preparation supporting executive leadership in quality, safety, clinical operations, or patient experience </li></ul>Work Experience: <ul><li>Executive leadership within a large complex, integrated healthcare system - 10 years </li><li>Demonstrated success aligning enterprise quality improvement and clinical excellence </li><li>Demonstrated success aligning enterprise patient experience, or high-reliability strategies at scale. </li><li>Physician dyad partnership structure to support achievement of clinical and operational objectives. </li></ul>Core Competencies<ul><li>Proven ability to align enterprise strategy with operational execution. </li><li>Deep expertise in quality improvement, reliability science, and performance management. </li><li>Strong collaborative leader who builds alignment across clinical, operational, and physician partners. </li><li>Data-driven, outcomes-focused, and deeply committed to patient-centered care. </li></ul> Salary: $250,000-$400,000 Location: Onsite, Champaign, IL. Overview:
The Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a newly expanded executive role reporting to the EVP, Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the technology foundation and evolution at Carle Health. This leader serves as a strategic and operational leader, ensuring that the health system's technology investments—from electronic health records to enterprise resource planning—are fully optimized to support clinical and business operations. The CTO is responsible for creating a secure, innovative, and patient-centered digital environment that facilitates high quality care, organizational growth and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:
Clinical System Stewardship<ul><li>Provides executive leadership to the VP of Epic & Clinical Systems, managing the optimization of Epic and ancillary clinical applications to improve provider and patient experience.</li><li>Ensures the reliability, optimization, and clinical alignment of the EHR and ancillary systems to enhance provider efficiency, patient safety, and care quality.</li><li>Partners with clinical and operational leaders to prioritize enhancements, manage change, and maximize value from clinical technology investments.</li></ul> Enterprise Technology Strategy & Delivery<ul><li>Defines and executes an enterprise technology roadmap aligned with organizational strategy, balancing innovation, risk, and operational excellence.</li><li>Oversees disciplined portfolio, program, and project management to ensure timely delivery of high impact initiatives with measurable outcomes.</li><li>Leads the health system’s Director of PMO and Project Delivery to ensure that enterprise-wide technology initiatives are executed with precision and aligned with Carle Health’s strategic roadmap.</li></ul> Enterprise Resource Platform Management<ul><li>Provides executive leadership to the Executive Director of Enterprise Systems, overseeing the management and long-term sustainability of business-critical platforms, specifically Workday.</li><li>Provides strategic oversight of enterprise business platforms to ensure scalability, data integrity, and long term sustainability.</li><li>Drives platform optimization and vendor accountability to improve user experience, integration, and total cost of ownership.</li></ul> Informatics & Artificial Intelligence<ul><li>Maintains a critical dyad partnership with the ACMO, Chief Informatics Officer, and provides matrixed leadership to the Medical Director of AI and Innovation to identify and adopt emerging technologies that enhance care delivery.</li><li>Advances the effective use of informatics, analytics, and AI to support clinical decision making, operational performance, and patient engagement.</li><li>Champions responsible adoption of emerging technologies through strong governance, clinical partnership, and measurable value realization.</li></ul> Infrastructure & Technical Operations<ul><li>Ensures resilient, secure, and highly available infrastructure supporting 24/7 clinical and business operations across all sites of care, including oversight of the service desk, telecommunications, and regional information technology needs.</li><li>Leads modernization of networks, data centers, and end user services to improve reliability, performance, and service experience</li><li>Oversees lifecycle management and integration of biomedical devices and clinical technologies to support safe, efficient care delivery.</li><li>Aligns biomedical engineering strategy with clinical, IT, and facilities partners to ensure regulatory compliance and operational reliability.</li></ul> Security & Resilience<ul><li>Provides matrixed oversight for the VP of Cybersecurity to ensure the protection of patient data and the resilience of the health system’s digital infrastructure.</li><li>Establishes a comprehensive cybersecurity and resilience posture to protect patient data and critical systems.</li><li>Integrates security, privacy, and disaster recovery into enterprise technology planning and operational decision making.</li></ul> Enterprise Collaboration & Influence<ul><li>Collaborates closely with executive, physician, nursing, and operational leaders to align priorities, expectations, and execution across the organization.</li><li>Influences outcomes through partnership and shared accountability rather than direct line authority.</li><li>Sponsors multidisciplinary improvement initiatives that are aligned to system strategy and scalable across regions and service lines.</li></ul>
