<a class="external" href="https://www.newperennials.org/" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener">New Perennials</a> (NP) at Middlebury College explores the restorative powers of perennial thoughts and actions in agriculture, education, the arts, wellness, and sacred practice traditions. Premised on notions of rootedness, relationships, and regions—and together with our collaborators—we host and support events, conferences, lectures, workshops, and performances; develop and teach courses and workshops on perenniality and diversity; and publish open-access books, pamphlets, and teaching and learning resources. NP offers a course in the Environmental Studies Program, <a class="external" href="https://www.newperennials.org/classroom" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener">The Perennial Turn</a>. Job Description The New Perennials intern will provide creative and strategic direction for social media outreach, storytelling, workshop planning, as well as ongoing support for the New Perennials Champlain Valley Hub. Work will include, but not be limited to: event support and coordination of event marketing, work on videos and podcasts, collaboration with NP partners, and assistance with NP partner convenings. If you enjoy working outdoors in a professional and safe environment, consider a Summer Internship with Bartlett Tree Experts!  As an Arboriculture Intern, you will work alongside Bartlett's dedicated team of arborists, gaining practical field experience in scientific tree and shrub care on commercial and residential properties. This is a unique opportunity to develop your career in arboriculture through hands-on training. As an Arboriculture Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of scientific tree and shrub care, while exploring different facets of this rewarding industry. Your internship may provide the following hands-on experience:<ul><li>Learning and safely performing different aspects of arboriculture, including:<ul><li>Pruning</li><li>Rigging</li><li>Cabling and bracing</li><li>Root collar excavations</li><li>Removals</li><li>Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)</li></ul></li><li>Gaining an understanding of integrated pest management programs, including: <ul><li>Property inspections</li><li>Tree identification</li><li>Insect and disease identification and management</li><li>Soil sampling</li><li>Record-keeping, report writing, and client relations</li></ul></li><li>Participating in safety and training meetings and developing professional relationships and friendships</li></ul>Qualifications:
