Contract Responsibilities:<ul><li>Provides consecutive, first-person interpretation.</li><li>Follows interpreter protocols and procedures as required by Propio L.S. clients.</li><li>Follows all Propio L.S. policies and procedures related to information confidentiality and interpreter ethics.</li><li>Continuously improves vocabulary and specialized subject matter knowledge, as required for various clients, such as medical, legal, social services, etc.</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Submission of updated Resume in English at time of Application.</li><li>Completion of English Language Proficiency with a language rating of “technical proficiency” (3 or higher on the nationally recognized ILR scale).</li><li>Successful completion of a Mock oral interpretation session. Job Description The STAGES Sign Language Interpreter -CONTRACTOR is responsible for interpreting or transliterating all academic content to allow students who are D/HH to access instruction, communicate with other members of the school community, and participate in school-based activities. The scope of services and supports provided by the Educational Interpreter will be determined by the students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). The Educational Interpreter serves as a collaborative member of a team that supports students identified as D/HH in a virtual academic environment and are fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). The Sign Language Interpreter- Contractor may be asked to obtain licensure in multiple states and serve students across multiple schools. This is an Independent Consultant position (1099).
