<h3>Description</h3><br/><div> We are seeking a skilled Chinese Translator to join our team, responsible for accurately translating a wide range of documents, communications, and multimedia content between Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) and English. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of both languages, an excellent understanding of cultural nuances, and the ability to convey meaning, tone, and context effectively. This is a remote position, requiring a high level of professionalism and self-discipline. </div><br/><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><br/><ul><li><strong>Document Translation</strong>: Translate various types of documents, including legal, technical, medical, and marketing materials from Chinese to English and vice versa, ensuring accuracy and clarity.</li><li><strong>Interpretation</strong>: Provide live interpretation services during meetings, conferences, or phone calls, enabling clear communication between Chinese and English-speaking parties.</li><li><strong>Cultural Localization</strong>: Adapt translations to ensure they are culturally appropriate for the target audience, considering idiomatic expressions, cultural references, and tone.</li><li><strong>Proofreading and Editing</strong>: Review and revise translated materials to ensure they are free from errors and convey the intended meaning accurately.</li><li><strong>Multimedia Translation</strong>: Translate subtitles, captions, or scripts for videos, webinars, and other multimedia content, maintaining the correct tone and meaning.</li><li><strong>Collaboration</strong>: Work closely with other translators, editors, and project managers to ensure consistency and quality across all translations.</li><li><strong>Project Management</strong>: Manage multiple translation projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and client requirements.</li><li><strong>Terminology Management</strong>: Maintain glossaries, translation memory, and other language tools to ensure consistent use of terminology.</li></ul><br/><h3>Skills, Knowledge and Expertise</h3><br/><ul><li>Native or near-native proficiency in both Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) and English.</li><li>Proven experience as a translator or interpreter, with a portfolio of translated work.</li><li>Excellent understanding of cultural differences between Chinese-speaking regions and English-speaking countries.</li><li>Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain the original tone and meaning in translations.</li><li>Experience with translation tools such as CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools is a plus.</li><li>Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.</li></ul><br/><h3>Benefits</h3><br/><div><strong>Medical Insurance</strong><br/>The coverage begins for the employee the on the first of the month following the first full 30 days of full-time employment for employees and their eligible dependents<br/>Cost to the employee to participate in the plan varies by the coverage selection and the number of dependents; and may be subject to collective bargaining agreement<br/>The employee may also elect to opt out of the County's medical insurance if proof of coverage is provided<br/>Under this arrangement, the employee is provided with an annual opt out payment.<br/><strong><br/>Vision and Prescription</strong><br/>The coverage begins for the employee on the first of the month following the first full 30 days of full-time employment for employees and their eligible dependents<br/>Contributions may vary, subject to collective bargaining agreement.<br/><strong><br/>Dental Coverage</strong><br/>The coverage begins for the employee on the first of the month following the first full 30 days of full-time employment for employees and their eligible dependents<br/>Contributions may vary, subject to collective bargaining agreement.  </div>
