In addition to installing and repairing HVAC systems, this position is responsible for construction, maintenance, repairs, and wiring of medium voltage electrical switchgear, HVAC systems, electric snowmelter controls and equipment, A.C. overhead/underground distribution systems up to 12KV A.C., and other electrical equipment used in buildings, shops, commuter stations, and yards. Engineering is responsible for building and maintaining the majority of Metra's fixed assets, such as buildings, stations, bridges, track, electrical, telecommunications and signal systems.
