Job Description: The Laundry Attendant is responsible for maintaining a consistent supply of clean linens and towels for the hotel, restaurant, and banquet facilities. The attendant will maintain an organized, clean and sanitary laundry room. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards. The person in this position must be able to roll their sleeves up and assist our teams when needed, living our “ONE TEAM. ONE VISION.” philosophy. This person must also provide innovative ways that align with our mission to be the best, most respected hotel company in America. The job is simple: Focus on ways to promote and engage in internal growth programs. Continuously exemplify and live by our Culture. Meet/exceed our company goals and three metrics. <ul><li>Complete all required training </li><li>Adhere to all standard operating procedures and property specific brand standards </li><li>Perform any other duties as requested by management to aid in better operation of the hotel and service to the guests </li><li>Provide personalized, friendly service to each and every guest </li><li>Separate items according to class, fabric and color </li><li>Have knowledge of operation of commercial washer and dryer </li><li>Wash and dry all linens using proper techniques </li><li>Fold and stack towels, sheets, and other linens </li><li>Properly store everything that is laundered </li><li>Inspect linens for stains, discoloration and/or tears, and pull all linen not up to standards </li><li>Keep accurate inventory records </li><li>Notify Executive Housekeeper if machinery is not working properly </li></ul>Necessary Skills:<ul><li>Keep confidential the business functions of the company including, but not limited to, financial status, customer/guest information, employee issues, etc. </li><li>Must be responsible for safety and security of guests, fellow employees and hotel assets </li><li>Have knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation procedures. </li><li>Able to report to all scheduled shifts </li><li>Able to communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and in person </li><li>Able to work a flexible schedule. Job Description Summary The House Attendant (HA) works with the Housekeeping Management Team to assist Room Attendants on assigned floors or buildings by collecting dirty linens and transporting to the laundry area, delivering clean linens to Room Attendant carts, and retrieving trash throughout the hotel. Assist with the commercial laundry function and/or the cleaning of public area spaces, exterior entrances to the hotel, and parking lot. Will be assigned special projects as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager. Job Description DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards. Work with Room Attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and linens. Deliver linens and other supplies to Room Attendants. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of floor closets and corridors to include removing trash, wiping down shelves/counters; sweeping, moping and/or vacuuming floors; and removing non-floor closet items and storing in appropriate areas. Respond to guests’ requests such as in a timely and efficient manner. Clean other designated areas such as public restrooms, storage rooms, and other public area spaces. Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to supervisor. Respond to special requests, guest complaints, and the delivery of housekeeping/room supplies to achieve complete guest satisfaction. Minimize waste of supplies and amenities within all areas of housekeeping. Deliver lost and found items according to established procedures. May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects. When assigned to laundry, monitor laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they are sufficient and in working order. Operate washers and dryers according to hotel standards and manufacturers’ guidelines. Receive soiled linens and inspect for damaged or stained items. Fold and store clean linens, report damages to supervisor. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws regarding health and safety services. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Some previous housekeeping experience preferred. Previous background from the extended stay industry preferred. Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English is preferred; other languages beneficial. Basic reading, writing and mathematical abilities are preferred. Frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility. Carrying, lifting or pulling items weighing up to 75 pounds. Will be required to regularly use commercial cleaning chemicals. Will be required to work mornings, evening, weekends, and holidays.
