<p>Paralegal</p><p><strong>JOB SUMMARY</strong></p><p>Assist the Patent Attorney in managing and prosecuting the company's intellectual property.</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES </strong>include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p><p>Prepare, file and assist with U.S. and foreign prosecution of patent and trademark applications; including:</p><ul><li>Preparation of Information Disclosure Statements</li><li>Recording patent and trademark assignments</li><li>Correspondence with inventors and draftsmen</li><li>Docket all incoming mail from USPTO and foreign associates</li><li>Run regular docket reports.</li></ul><p>Maintain organized filing system (electronic and physical files). Monitor PTO Deposit Account.</p><p>Coordinate with accounting department to ensure necessary budgeted amounts and replenish when necessary. Keep up to date on all PTO and PCT rules. Conduct trademark clearance searches.</p><p>Coordinate and record submission of legal invoices to internal accounting organization. Administration of corporate contracts including administration of standard IP license agreements, hotel/exhibitor agreements, non-disclosure agreements, insurance certificates and equipment loan agreements.</p><p><strong>QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word,</p><p>PowerPoint, Outlook). Proficient with USPTO Patent Application Information Retrieval (PAIR).</p><p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail and organizational skills a</p><p>must.</p><p><strong>Language Skills: </strong>Good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to respond to and resolve common inquiries complaints or conflicts with customers, venders, employees, peers and management. Ability to speak effectively on the telephone and in person. Ability to effectively present information to others.</p><p><strong>Mathematical Skills: </strong>Ability to use and understand basic math. percentages.</p><p><strong>Reasoning Ability: </strong>Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to perform well under stress when confronted with emergency situations.
